Not very good. I ordered a simple steak burrito and some chicken empanadas so I can't speak for any other menu items. The empanadas were bland and dry. The burrito was also very bland and just unappealing, not to mention that I ordered it with added onions but didn't get any. It was also supposed to come with cheese but I didn't get any of that either. The steak was gray and unseasoned, the rice was either stale or under-cooked and the pitiful portion of refried beans tasted canned. It just feels like most of the ingredients came from a can, or bag like the tortilla. The side cups of sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole were a nice touch but the guac was SO salty I just couldn't eat it, like crazy salty and so was the pico. All of those other flavors that could have been dispersed inside the burrito, were instead put in cups on the side. Doesn't make much sense to me, it's a nice touch yes.. but only because that's all that stopped me from ditching this burrito. Was the idea to have a bland burrito base that I am supposed to smear sour cream, pico and guac onto with each bite to enhance the flavor? I don't know, there are just way better options in the immediate areas for fantastic authentic Mexican food but I gave it a shot. First and last time here...
Read moreIf you're in Kingston and haven’t tried Loko Chef yet, you're seriously missing out; especially their Mediterranean salad. It's a total flavor bomb and easily one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time.
It comes packed with vibrant roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan that brings everything together. But the real stars are the giant grilled shrimp, which are perfectly charred, juicy, and full of smoky flavor, as well as the fresh, tender chicken that tastes like it was just pulled off the grill.
This salad isn’t just a side dish, it’s a full on meal that leaves you feeling satisfied but still light. Every bite is fresh, bold, and seriously craveworthy. Loko Chef crushed it with this one. Can’t...
Read moreWanted something quick for dinner and was in the mood for Mexican, so I decided to try this spot. Ordered a tinga (chipotle chicken) burrito and a single chicken taco. Food was ready in 15 and the woman who took care of me was very sweet. The burrito was huge, and I like that they griddle their burritos. The taco was definitely the star though, and next time will probably just get 4 or 5 of those and call it a day. Tortilla was incredible, and the roja sauce that came with it had a good kick. I ended up pouring most of it on my burrito. All in all definitely a good spot for some...
