Used to love this place! Good luck showing up when one hot tub works, haven't been when both were working in years. Showed up last weekend after promoting a party with two hot tubs and a pool, zero hot tubs working! We were so excited because for the first time ever, we were greeted by a friendly and happy desk clerk, until I was reprimanded for complaining about the hot tubs not working! One guy giving a tour to another couple said "heated by the sun to 90 degrees"! Our group has been hosting parties there for 11 years. This time we were all treated like we were definitely not wanted! Shortly after arriving, a guy claiming to work there comes around aggressively telling us that when he points at us we BETTER raise our arm to show him our wristband or he will escorts us off the property. I've never seen this guy before! Later, a woman got mad and started screaming at us to stop smoking in the pool so it was put out and TWO APOLOGIES were issued to still screaming lady. She was still yelling at us, belittling and cursing at us, when manager Dave stands on the edge of the pool also yelling at us for starting/trying to fight while screaming woman is still yelling. He goes to the very edge of the pool, leans over and puts his finger in my face and yells at me that I'm being aggressive in front of 30-40 guests. This was moments after I had to defend some strangers from the other front desk lady for loudly, rudely, and falsely accusing them of having sex in the pool. We packed up and left immediately and will NEVER be back and I have posted our experiences in our 5k+ member group. Dave is going to reply to this review and try to say we were smoking weed, it was CBD delta 8 purchased at a local smoke shop AND it was immediately put out, put away and apologized for TWICE. I'm writing to the AANR as well! I do not recommend that single ladies go alone during the week as well, last two times I went I was "not left alone" (as their website boasts) and was followed from lake to pool back to lake by some creepy guy and when they couldn't do anything because he was breaking any rules, I left and never returned...
Read moreI have lived here with my partner for a year and going on our second year, when we had to leave because the property manager Dave, stole from us and when confronted he stated "it's always a fight with you guys, I don't want to hear it just go ahead and leave." We left the park for 3 days and told the front desk and everyone else we see around the community that we would be coming back after a short work trip. We packed up everything and left at our spot two wooden decks we were originally given by Dave when the last tenant left them. He stated "yeah no one owns these, help yourselves." Which we verified with the last tenant he left them because he too was warranted to leave after the manager wasn't following through and was fed up. He originally bought the RV with the decks. This deck was perfect as we have a 9 year old German Shepherd that needs that help to get into and out of the RV. So this guy waited like a coward when we were gone to take the decks. Which we moved by hand ourselves, clean and fixed up the loose boards and nails sticking out. I have now waited 2 weeks for the return of the yearly membership I had just purchased and the rent we never got to finish. Before we left, we gave Josie our information to have the refunds sent. Her, my partner and myself were all there to witness Dave saying the park was going to give us "100% refund on everything." We have waited, and of course he does not honor his word. The park manager has now stolen from us twice and I have started the legal paperwork and will be filing a complaint with the TCEQ and the Texas Workforce Comissions once it hits the...
Read moreWe wanted to try something we've never tried before. Since we both love camping, being outdoors, AND being naked, then we went on a search for, hopefully, a nudist campground here in Texas that was decent enough yet wouldn't set us back an arm and a leg.
There are some expensive nudist resorts in Texas, that's for sure! However, we came across Emerald Lake down in Porter, TX. Seemed like a simple place. A beautiful lake, lots of trees, jacuzzis, a pool, a swimming beach, gameroom, tent sites, RV sites, a lake house, paddleboats, etc. And the price wasn't nearly as outrageous as some of the others in the state. Found their website and looked them over. We decided to give them a try.
We wanted to come during the week as to avoid large crowds, as they had a biker event coming up the following weekend. Upon arrival it was quiet and the staff was very nice upon checking in. We rented one of the Lake House rooms (#4) and unloaded our stuff.
The room was small but manageable. Very clean with a great porch area to overlook the pool and lake area. We stripped down and started our mini-vacation.
Everyone we came into contact with was courteous and nice. We met a few of the permanent residents and all were very kind. At no time did we ever feel like we were being stared at or any other uneasiness, for that matter.
We will definitely be going...
