Such a refreshing and amazing experience. We wanted to find a solid local Mexican kitchen with authentic ingredients and menu options. To start… we had red salsa, yellow queso, and salsa verde. Red Salsa was good, queso was “okay”, but the salsa verde was OUTSTANDING!!! I would put it on everything if I could lol. Had to try the margaritas to really test the bar. And WOW! Got the signature pineapple margarita, perfect balance! And really dressed up the tajin!! 10/10!!! For meal wanted something authentic and a little of everything. So went with their Molcajete special. And WOW! Grilled shrimp, steak, sausage, grilled cactus, fried cheese and salsa. Went with the charro beans instead of refried. 10/10. Rice had good flavor. The cheese, shrimp, and steak were incredible! Favorite thing about the restaurant was the atmosphere and classic Mexican decor. It felt Authentic and exactly what I like about a Mexican restaurant. And along with that, they had the BEST service!! Strong team work and everyone steps up and takes care of you. From The manager to the waiters and busers. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. One of my best experiences at any restaurant in a long time. If you are in the area, you MUST eat here! Won’t disappoint. And can’t wait to go back! 🖤

We've eaten at this Pueblo Viejo Mexican Restaurant on and off since it first opened. Over the years, the quality of the food would be hit-or-miss, but the only constant would be the terrible table service. This last visit, July 2022, the nice drink server had refilled our waters and teas three separate times before we finally asked when the waiter/waitress would be coming to take our order. We finally had our waiter arrive 15 minutes after sat down at our table. The place wasn't too busy and there was plenty of staff around the restaurant. We ordered a couple of appetizers and asked if they could be brought out before our food order went in (so we could visit and enjoy the appetizers before our meals). The appetizers arrived, and a minute later, so does our food, forcing us to eat everything before it gets cold. If this was a one time thing, it wouldn't even be brought up... This kind of service is almost every single trip here. It's sad because the food is decent more times than not. The fajita meat is in our top 20 of Mexican restaurants. The queso blanco and chuncky guacamole salad are usually good. No particular dish really sticks out as a "must try". We will go again someday, and continue to keep our fingers crossed that service might one day improve.

UPDATE: so.. I guess alot has changed. See picture of chicken fajitas. Very disappointed. I asked no onions but ...this for $15? Normally it comes with peppers. Beans tasted like they were reheated too many times. The small cheese was $8. Server wasn't very personable and we waited about 10 mins before she came to us after the host sat us. Refilled our waters once which was at the end of the meal. We won't be back. We always go to La Casita but this was right around the corner. Next time we will go to our regular. Never disappointed at La Casita and you get plenty for what you pay for. The food was just very disappointing and I'm sad I even paid for it. 1 YEAR AGO:Good food, good service, clean restaurant. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the way they served the queso flameado - it was just heated. Normally it comes on fire and you can taste whatever liquor a restaurant chooses to use but it didn't have any of that. But it's not something that would keep me from coming again. I would visit again.

My parents and just left this location and I must say we were all filled with aggravation and disappointment. I myself am a fellow server so I know the job can be however, this was no excuse. There were 4 tables full including us with no party bigger than 4. Our server that took our beverages was a male that got our drink right but my dad asked for fresh sliced jalapeños…we received those after he had to ask 3 separate times. The lady that took our orders seemed to barely understand us. She took my mom’s order and we were very clear in what we wanted how we wanted. She wrote hers down and then got to me, I asked for a beef fried avocado with refried beans and rice. As I was telling her my order I was pointing to the menu….she said huh and signaled for me to show her. She took my menu and did not write down my order. When my dad started ordering the male server who took our drinks came over to help her. All three of us (my dad, mom, and I) had to repeat our orders a second time. After this they went to the manager to put the orders in. Now when we received our orders all 3 were wrong and not how we wanted them. For instance, I received a chicken fried avocado with bean soup and rice. So we sent back all 3 of our orders and waited. We had a few things wrong the second time around but they weren’t major so we just ate the food. We waited over 15mins for the ticket, my dad got up and asked the hostess at the front if we had to pay at the front or what was up because we hadn’t received it and nobody checked on us after we got our meals. Mind you now there are many 3 tables including us and one already has their to-go boxes tied up in bags. So she goes to get someone from the back and they give us our ticket. It was $75 for food that none of us enjoyed and for horrible service. You bet we did not tip because why would we reward that type of service and food behavior??? To sum it up it was horrible experience and we will not be going back. As a server I was severely...

This is the last time we will go to this location! We normally go here for all birthdays during the week which is a party of 10! We called today around noon, and made reservations for 10 people at 6:15. We get there at 6:15, and get seated at our table, they bring chips and salsa out to start. The chips were cold, and stale. They then 20 minutes later took our drink order which was your basic tea, and water with a pitcher of regular margaritas. We get our drinks about 10-15 minutes later which by the time our chips and salsa are already gone (even though they were stale, and cold) we ate them. We then wait another 10 minutes, and ask about the pitcher of margaritas they then bring out a pitcher of mango margaritas!! We told them it’s fine they said we will charge you half price. Great no problem! Then 10 minutes later another server brings the correct pitcher of margaritas which we did not ask for. By this time all our drinks where empty the kids where hungry. One of us finally get up, and track down our waiter to get the food order taken. They take the order with a attitude! Once the order is taken we ask for refills of our drinks which have been empty for some time, as well as the chips and salsa. Well 20 minutes later our food comes out, and they bring chips and salsa after the food has already been served, and almost finished. At this point we finally call the manager over due to the horrible service mind you the section our waiter was in only had 2 other tables seated. The manager does absolutely nothing but give us a refill on our drinks. We go to pay for the ticket which was $275 with the already 15% tip included that brought the ticket to over $300! We then all leave and wait 10-15 minutes to call the restaurant and ask to speak to the manager about the service we got and all he could say was oh well what do you want me to do about it!! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND...

Love, love, love this place!! It has been our go-to date night restaurant for over about 4 years now, and food/service has improved so much within the last year specifically.

Every time, we sit down and order a pitcher of strawberry frozen margaritas, which have a good kick but don’t have that awful strong taste that lots of other local restaurants and bars have. Also, a large yellow Queso is a must every time!!

My personal favorite item on the menu is their new Street Tacos. I usually wait to order so we can enjoy our drinks and each other, so we’re normally mostly full on chips/margs and order it with 4 tacos instead of 3. Get it with their charro beans, and ask for the special sauce if you like spicy. It’s HOT, but the flavor is remarkable. I even tried mixing it in their queso last time and it was delicious!!

The fajitas are great too, and fresh smoked with mesquite, so anything with that in it is going to be good. My personal favorite is the Viva la Vida, but they’re all good. Chimichanga with steak, Queso Flamado, Patron Combo, Senorita, and the Dirty Donkey burrito are great too depending what you’re in the mood for, but the menu is huge and full of anything you can think of. And after you’re done eating, be sure to take pictures of your children on those awesome painted bulls outside.

We miss our old server that’s no longer there (or just not working evenings possibly, but if Thomas is there, request him and you won’t be disappointed! We’re lucky enough to have him take care of us every time we go, and from full drinks, to napkins and chip/salsa refills I don’t have to flag him down for a single thing, which is rare for busy servers these days. Master of his trade.

So if you’re thinking about giving them a chance, or if you haven’t been there in a while, GO! You’ll be...
