Porter Donuts & Kolaches — Restaurant in Texas

I came into your shop after our area was hit by flood waters from Harvey... I came into the shop to buy donuts that I was donating to first responders and to those at the shelter that had been displaced because of the storm. When my daughter and I walked in, I immediately noticed the crude cardboard sign that you had designed just for the storm prices. However your official signage hanging on the wall said a dozen glazed were 6.50. I asked the counter lady... How much for a dozen glazed... she tells me, $9.00. hmmm So my response... so you have jacked the prices up just for the storm? Her response... I'm sorry... my boss made me do it. SMH I later went back and even though the makeshift sign was gone, I actually went live on facebook and have the "manager" as she called herself telling me directly that the cardboard sign was indeed for storm prices and again that her boss made her do it. This is my personal experience with this company and I feel that each person needs to base their business with them according to your own personal standing... I do personally read reviews to make an informed decision often. I have done business with this shop in the past, but I will not ever buy anything else from them again because of my personal experience. Great A++ Donuts! The Donuts are 5⭐. Getting the donuts are 1⭐. My only complaint, for years now, is that they are always OUT OF DONUTS. It makes no sense. You're open from 5am-1pm & you're out of Chocolate Covered Old Fashion Donuts..& alot of others..by 7am-8am every dang time. I've tried calling ahead between 8am-10am to place an order for pick up & all he says is, "We're out of donuts. All I have is blueberry. I don't make that many." You are a DONUT SHOP. Why are you out before 10am & why are you not making more Donuts? He told me 2yrs ago I could call in an order & he's yet to fill an order for pickup. Shipley's & Pat's Donuts are ok..but they are NOWHERE near as good as Porter Donuts! They make the best Donuts I've had, that's not homemade, in my 56yrs. Let me tell you about this magical little spot called Quarters, Donuts and Kolaches. It's not just a breakfast stop it's a whole experience. Their sausage, egg, and cheese croissants? Melt in your mouth amazing. I’m convinced they sprinkle a little happiness in the dough.

I’ve had my fair share of iced coffees and frappes from here because, let’s be honest, caffeine is the glue holding my life together. They even have Korean coffee, and yes, it slaps. Hard.

My mom is ride or die for the Country Boy kolaches. She says they bring the spice and, honestly, she's not wrong. They’re the culinary equivalent of getting a surprise plot twist in a romance novel unexpected, bold, and a little bit addictive.

And the donuts? Don't even get me started. They're so good, I feel like I’m betraying them when I go out of town and grab a donut somewhere else. I look at that sad little substitute donut like, “You’re not her.”
