I wish I could give more stars than 5 because Highland certainly deserves it! I live in Maryland and was looking for furniture for our retirement home in Myrtle Beach in anticipation of moving within a few months. A friend had recommended a furniture place in North Carolina. I accidentally found Highland thinking it was the shop my friend recommended but later learned I was wrong. By this point, I had already been in contact with Shawn and Kathleen and they were so helpful and knowledgeable I wouldn't have considered changing - what an awesome find even if by accident!! Due to life circumstances, our move was postponed but we continued to work with Highland, or should I say they continued to work with me as I wasn't always quick in replying to their communications. Buying anything long distance is difficult but Kathleen spoke with me at length to get a feel for what I liked/wanted and when we visited our future home, we stopped in to their showroom to see what they had found for us. I loved the things that Kathleen picked out and she and Shawn were so helpful and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better shopping experience! My wife and I were looking for a Stressless sofa and found Highland Furniture from a print ad. When we visited the showroom we were asked politely if we wanted help but were not pressured. We then looked around at our leisure.

We purchased a sofa at a reasonable price. It was delivered and our old sofa removed as per our agreed upon schedule. The delivery men were very prompt and courteous.

While completing the sale we asked out salesman, Charles, about our 11 year old Stressless chair that would not stay locked in one position.. He mentioned that the braking mechanisms on the sides could be easily replaced and were probably the cause of the problem.

When we returned home I checked out the sliding locks on the chair and they looked easy enough to replace. We called Shawn to see if we could order replacements. He had some in stock and had them delivered with no charge.

This store is well-established family operated business. The owners, sales staff and delivery staff are customer oriented and amazingly helpful and concerned about the individual needs of their customers. The furniture and carpets are of the highest quality. I have purchased a Stressless Chair, a side table and carpet from this store in the past. I needed a reclining chair for my wife who has had just had hip replacement surgery. She needed a way to recline with the feet above the heart to eliminate sever swelling . Highland Furniture had an impressive inventory of recliners. I found the perfect chair. My wife says it’s the most comfortable chair she has ever sat in. It has several motors making possible an infinite number of positions for maximum comfort. The company delivered the chair the very next day, January 2, at my urgent request.
