Update: I have been trying to ignore them, but they still have not stop trying to contact me even after a year of telling every employee that emails me to remove me from all their list. It seems to be a different employee every time just emailing and calling. They wont fix what they have done,so I want them to just leave me alone. Do not go to this school. They will only take advantage of you in anyway they can. Then as you’re trying to piece things back together, they will continue to annoy the living hell out of you to try and scam you again. Please save yourself the pain and money and look into other schools. This place is overpriced to all hell which is probably why they rush entry, so you don’t have time to think about it or shop around. NUC, leave me alone! I never want to see or hear from you guys ever again.
OG Post: This school is designed to scam and take advantage of desperate people trying to move up in their lives. They have lied and avoided questions constantly through out my course.
I’m in the welding course which requires a lot of hands on practice to get it down and actually learn. They have a small shop with barely any booths yet they keep accepting new students without the room to teach us. They promise to expand the shops but it wont be until I leave, and they still are accepting new students. So much that there are students that are not even able to get 30 minutes of weld time a day. Which is not enough to finish a damn thing.
The teachers are amazing, but the administration is appalling. Never once have I felt like they actually care about my education. I have given them chances time and time again to fix their mistakes and every time they have disappointed.
If you are looking for a good school, go somewhere else. If you’re a current student, get a refund while you can easily.
I do not feel confident I can even go into the career field of welding after attending this school. They will take your money then set you up for failure. So please don’t make the same mistake I made, choose almost any other school than this one.
Edit: This school only tried calling me once and I have informed them to contact me by email. They have not done so yet.
I am not posting this to get anything. I already lost. This is hopefully to talk some sense into others so that they don’t make the same mistake I did…
I haven’t been to the school in a few months now and tho I thought I made it clear that I don’t want anymore contact with them they continue to call me now about returning to the school. They call me several times a week from different numbers so I can’t just block them. I have said many times in several email to just leave me alone yet they continue. So not only will they lie to you and scam you, they will continue to harass you when you clearly don’t want to talk to them. If you’re from Florida tech reading this, make note. Don’t bother commenting as I do not read them. Just...
Read moreCritical Review of the HVAC Program at Florida Technical College, Kissimmee Campus
As a student enrolled in the HVAC technician certification program at Florida Technical College’s Kissimmee campus, I find myself compelled to share my experiences, particularly concerning the inadequacies in the equipment and materials provided for our training. Despite the program’s promising curriculum that suggests a comprehensive education in HVAC systems repair and maintenance, the reality falls significantly short of expectations.
Firstly, the program is hampered by a glaring lack of properly working equipment. For a field that relies heavily on hands-on experience with machinery and tools, this deficit severely hinders the learning process. The practical aspect of HVAC training is crucial, as it prepares students for real-world scenarios. Unfortunately, the existing equipment is often out of service or in poor condition, which does not allow for the thorough and rigorous practice expected in such a technical discipline.
Furthermore, the materials necessary to repair and conduct lab exercises are frequently insufficient. This scarcity of resources not only limits the scope of learning but also impedes the ability to practice essential repairs and maintenance tasks. The hands-on experience is vital in the HVAC industry, and the lack of adequate materials for practice casts doubts on the program’s effectiveness in preparing students for the workforce.
The concerns mentioned above point to a broader issue of program support and investment. The success of technical training programs heavily depends on the availability of current and fully functional equipment, as well as a steady supply of materials needed for training purposes. The deficiencies observed in the HVAC program at the Kissimmee campus suggest a need for significant improvements to meet the educational standards and expectations of students aspiring to become skilled technicians in the HVAC field.
In conclusion, while the HVAC technician certification program at Florida Technical College, Kissimmee offers a promising pathway for aspiring technicians, the lack of proper equipment and materials severely undermines its potential. For the program to fulfill its educational objectives and adequately prepare students for their future careers, it is imperative that these issues are addressed with urgency. Investments in updated equipment and sufficient materials are crucial steps toward enhancing the quality of education and training provided to HVAC students.
My hope is that this review serves as constructive feedback for the institution, highlighting areas for improvement that can elevate the program to the standards that students, like myself, expect...
Read moreI really dont write reviews, but I feel like this is needed most especially for a school. I have been enrolled for 3 months and have taken 4 courses. but I wanted to withdraw because the program wasnt for me. I sent a message to someone and informed me I should finish out my class and then come in the campus to start the withdrawal process. SO I went in to the campus the day my last class ended and tried to talk to someone, but they gave me a phone number for who I needed to contact and let me be on my way. I was walking out the door and I called the number, No answer so I left a message. Then I went back in to the campus and ask the receptionist if I could have an email address, and she first said I dont know if she has her email listed let me check. First of this was a school so EVERYONE should have an email address. I sent an email and waited. The next day I decided to go back in to the campus to try and talk to someone, which I finally did. I saw someone in academics and financial aid. Was told that someone would send me an email for the withdrawal form or process. At this point I already got notification that my next class was assigned to me. I called the next day, because driving to the campus everyday wasnt cutting it. the receptionist informed me that the person she talked to says she will reach out to the Dean but I should send her an email again to refresh her memory. I sent the email again and waitied. I emailed someone else because of course like everyone I have emailed no one replies. Finally someone who isnt even at the Kissimmee location replies back to me and informs me they would try and get a hold of someone. Keep in mind this person is no one I have talked to before. she had been quick to reply and tried her best. she emailed me back stating someone will contact me and that the withdrawal was being processed. No one ever contacted me so today Wednesday I call the campus again. And of course they ask me if I contacted so and so. At this point I was already frustrated and letting them I dont want to get charge for this class and I need to start this process ASAP. She then put me on hold and then came back to tell me someone will contact me after they were done with a student. Also do think that telling student they SHOULD get the laptops but then charge alot for them and then cant take them back because the BOX is opened but it was never use is ridiculous. I am very unhappy with this school and I do not plan on...
