Spencer's — Local services in Knoxville

I’ve always liked Spencer’s and have never had a problem shopping here before, but a few days ago my husband and I had a bad experience here. We were just browsing around and my husband accidentally knocked an item off of a hook. Before we even had a chance to pick it up, an employee came over and said “can you not put my merchandise in the floor?” My husband tried to apologize and explain that it was an accident (it was plastic and wasn’t at all damaged). She cut him off and said “you need to pick it up and let me see it so I can make sure you didn’t break it.” He handed it to her and of course it wasn’t messed up in any way. She then told us that if we knock anything else into the floor, we’d be paying for it. I could somewhat understand if the item was fragile or if we had been acting foolish, but she was ridiculous and...

the female employees were stand offish and kinda rude. One of the female employees were rude to my partner. He wasn’t wearing face mask and I understand the frustration of people not wearing when there is a sign however, there is a way to politely ask a customer to put one on. The employee who was rude to my partner was near the display case of piercings and was walking towards the register and while she was walking I heard make her make comment of that’s why there is a sign. When we were ready to make a purchase both employees never greeted us at the register or let us know they were ready for us and they were making faces with what we were purchasing. I’m hopeful it was just because it’s was an off day on top of it...

Me and my friend went in to look around and my my friend accidentally knocked over a stich pillow. Before he even got the chance to pick it up the employee behind the counter ordered us to pick it up in a very condescending tone. One other pillow had fallen off the shelf which I had already picked up at that point. Because he didn’t pick it up instantly she then said “use your hands and pick it up” like that isn’t common sense. He put it back on the shelf using his leg but apparently that was “hella disrespectful” so she kicked us out following us the whole way out the door.
