Twice Treasured Thrift Store — Local services in La Mesa

I have been shopping here for over 4 years. I have always found nice things here. Lately, over the past year, the prices have increased tremendously. At first, it was a few things here and there like the more higher end items and antiques. Now it’s everything. I stopped in last week because it had been a couple of months since I shopped (because of the high prices and the not so pleasant staff they have now) and that will probably be the last time. I wanted to give them a chance and support the church but I couldn’t get past the prices and again the unfriendly staff. They really seem snobby and not happy (not very Christian like). It’s really unfortunate. This time I took pictures of some random items as examples of their ridicules prices. One of the items is from the Dollar Store and it’s marked $2.75. A pair of shoes that are falling apart for almost $10 and some apple pins for $4.50 & $6. This is no longer thrifting. I can go to a big box store and pay less for brand new items. I understand with the economy and the increase of prices for things but this is a thrift store and a church that comes across as greedy. They now rank up there with Goodwill that I no...

Extremely rude, and 100% ZERO customer service. My wife and I purchased a “sterling silver” necklace which turned out to not be real after testing it soon as we were home. At the store we talked to two representatives who assured us that the jewelry is tested by a professional who labels them before selling. There was no official stamp. No indications of testing just labeled “sterling silver”. They assured us that if we kept the receipt we can bring it back for a refund if it turned to be a fake. The store then make it difficult to return the item, first stating that they never said anything like that, that they weren’t able to process a return, giving my wife a hard time in front of multiple customers. Well! I have to say that the volunteers there are fantastic people they really do get involved in the conversation if you want them too. I personally love their little front boutique though there are quite a few things that are considerably overpriced. ($40 for a black and whitehouse dress. Way to much) I can see why they are not selling them very fast. There are a Couple things that are still marked correctly. Their glassware is reasonably priced and so are there seasonal items. I mean they are higher price than goodwill and we all know how expensive goodwill has turned out to be.. Hopefully they get this message and are able to realize that the reason people go to secondhand stores is because they are 2nd hand not new and should not...
