Ellie, the seamstress is an absolute angel and she saved my wedding day! I came into the store in a panic ONE DAY before my wedding. And she far exceeded my expectations!! She is talented, caring, calm and took charge while assuring me she will make sure my dress fits like a glove and she 100% delivered!!! 🥰👌
My dress (that I had not tried on in a few weeks) was hanging off of me. Normal wedding stress caused me to drop 2 dress sizes before the big day. I was besides myself. I went to my tailor and the seamstress was not in that weekend!! I am SO grateful that they suggested Dress Me Up, as they said that’s the only place they could recommend trust with my wedding dress. I drove right there and Ellie took me in the back right away. I am telling you, she was heaven sent and somehow, I just met her but I trusted she would make sure she did everything she could to make it fit. She took my dress home and my mom picked it up at 8 am on my wedding day. Ellie worked all night and came in early to deliver the dress. I did not know until after full glam if my dress would even fit!! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! It was tight enough to enhance my figure but I was still able to dance all night comfortably!! Perfect.
I couldn’t believe a complete stranger could be so kind, so compassionate and so determined to make sure that I felt beautiful. Truly such a beautiful and talented soul and I am forever grateful for...
Read moreI had Ellie work on my wedding dress starting in the spring, but as the wedding date approached (10/13), I became increasingly concerned about the lack of progress. My final fitting was pushed to 3 days before the wedding, and when I finally had it, the waist was too tight, and the dress was still full of pins.
As my wedding day got closer, I found myself in a panic. 3 days before the wedding, I had to be seen by Rosalina instead of Ellie due to her absence. Rosalina was a lifesaver; she worked day and night to fix the tightness, reposition the straps (that Ellie said could not be done due to manufacturing) , and completed the lace appliqué, turning my dress into something I loved just in time for the big day.
While I’m grateful to Rosalina and Holly, who did a wonderful job on my husband and dad's suits, I feel compelled to warn future brides: stay on top of your alterations and don't hesitate to voice your concerns. I had too much faith in Ellie, and I regret not being more proactive. If it weren’t for Rosalina’s hard work, my dress could have been a disaster.
Overall, I don’t want to leave a negative review for the shop itself since I had a positive experience with other staff, but I hope this serves as a...
Read moreloved how they asked about my sizes and what color and what its for but absolutely disliked how she was kind of loud with me not fitting in the dresses, she didnt listen when i asked for a different dress or to look around once more, and her having like 6 different people watching me made me stress and real nervous, although they all were like :wow its so nice! i went home ashamed, embarrassed, on the verge of tears-not because there were so many people, but because i felt like an orge, i felt like the fattest person on earth, my self image was hurt even more then it was before i got there.. i didnt like how they talked about someone else being smaller sized. the changing room curtains had two opening so even with it shut you can still be seen and is kinda small, and although the dress is gorgeous, it make my figure look bad. overall it was a beautiful place just some hiccups along the way to getting something. I dont mean to spread negativity i just want people to know this stuff before they experience...
