Okay so let me start this by getting out the pros right off the bat. In General customer service is wonderful there especially considering how underpaid the workers are (you don't even want me to go into detail). And in general it is clean, bright, and things are easy to find. Now, with that out of the way, here are the negatives. Yes, they do have gas now contrary to a previous review. That's if you want to pay $0.30 more a gallon than three miles up the road. If you have any method of transportation to remove yourself even further, let's say 6 miles down the road, you will find that the pricing on any grocery item that you possibly could have wanted or needed is at least half the price than what is currently being charged at Harry's (Walmart vs Harry's?? you just don't want to know trust me.) Unless you are used to paying $5 for a box of stale lil debbie Donuts and no I'm not talking about a dozen. Or $2 something for dollar store bread or $5 a gallon of milk. Then this is your store!!!
Unfortunately this area has is a depressed economy and a lot of the people that are his customers are people that live right around within I say an 2 mile radius of the store. A wide majority of these customers are low inome and may not even have the ability or maybe the transportation and\or gas to get out of town in order to save money on their purchases. So if you wish to make sure that you are paying 300% markup by all means come to this place. But you will have excellent customer service while...
Read moreHarry's has been the go-to Quickie mart for as long as I can remember! I still enjoy going there. I love taking my boys there and seeing their faces light up when they carefully scan the massive selection. I absolutely loved when my hubby worked there. Our boys and I loved coming to help out around the store. It was an amazing experience, We will never forget. We were sad that that experience had to end. Our family will always love Harry's Market. I also wanted to add one more thing, to those ppl who had some bad experiences.... I am almost certain I know who these employees were, a female and the other, a male who was known for being moody or just hard to read most of the time. If I remember correctly, He had worked there for over 10years. It wasn't easy to let him go. He was a great dude. He was always friendly to our boys. Dealing w ppl all day everyday isnt the best match for everyone. These individuals no longer are employed at Harry's. I would suggest giving the place another chance it's worth it, I promise! The employees are great guys (not as AWESOME as my guy was & is. He would have been employee of the month, every month! Well if they had an emplyee of the month. Lol) ** If there's anything you want that Harry's does sell just tell the employee and they'll let Boss man know(the owner). Without question, he will order the item as quick...
Read moreI've been going to Harry's for years. They're setup the way convenience stores used to be. Sure some things may be more expensive than Walmart but these small stores that still have an old school candy isle aren't meant to compete with corporations. Harrys is far more important to the community and local economy than a corporation like Walmart will ever be. The staff are very friendly and I'm glad to pay a 10 cent mark up to support my local economy and a business who's owners also live in the area. Memories I've made stopping their with my daughter over the years stick with me. Even the woman who works the register on some days has asked how my daughter is doing when we don't stop in there for awhile. Harrys is part of my neighborhood and part of my home.
As a side note one of the reviews above mentions expensive gas, Harry's doesn't sell gas nor do they have pumps. The same review refers to the area as impoverished low income which is far from true in this area of Lacey. These are lower/middle class, safe neighborhoods with great schools. According to the location of his other reviews I suspect he mixed up the area and store he was referring too since this store has never...
