We spent a girl's day learning/ doing pottery. There were 4 of us in the group. I set up the appointment with her. Driving from Indy, I arrived 3 minutes late. She made a comment that us arriving late is what set her back so much. Someone from our party arrived early, but in order to get in, you have to call Lala Gallery & Studio (located on the 2nd floor) to be let in. In our opinion, she overbooked herself and wasn't even prepared/ organized for us to come. For not having much experience on the potters wheel, we didn't receive much help from her as she was bouncing around helping out with another booked event of hers. We each made 2 "pots", and none of us were happy with our creations. The sessions were very self guided instruction. She gave us a quick run through of how to make our pottery and basically left us to refer to the confusing instruction/ picture on the wall- very disappointing for the price we payed. Communication with her was terrible. Neither calling, texting, or emailing were very effective forms of communication, especially if you needed to get a response from her right away. Any effort made was our responsibility and getting a response back took days. From start to finish, the process took us from May 4th (making the pots) to getting them back glazed and fired (around July 15th). We had to call to see if the pots were fired, ready for glaze, and ready to pick up. She commented on not having enough room to store everybody's creations, but that's probably because she doesn't communicate with people that they are ready to pick up, as she says she would communicate. Finally, one from our group just showed up during her open class in hopes to pick up our projects. Thankfully it worked out...
Read moreScheduled an hour long private pottery class over a week ago and was told to call when I had gotten there to get instructions as to where the studio was..... I get there a little early and call. No one answers. I text no one answers . I finally find the place on my own and find another number on the door to call . An "instructor" came and showed my son and i upstairs. We were supposed to have a private pottery wheel class but the lady that was to do it had double booked herself for 4 o'clock and wasn't there. For the next hour i sat and watched my child play with clay. There were no waterbowls to place clay joints, no cutting or carving tools. Just a menagerie of stamps. I could have done that at home. Im very dissatisfied with the level of professionalism. Dont recommend and...
