My car was towed in un-drivable with something wrong with the drive-train, I suggested it was a loose shift linkage informed them of the extensiveness of the newly rebuilt components and my lack of confidence in my former backyard Audi mechanic, I told them the tachometer was still working and it felt like something had simply come loose while I was driving it and left it in their hands, I later called them to even TELL THEM IT WAS LIKELY THE AXLE coming out the hub side after doing some research.
I got it back several days later with several hundred dolllars worth of diagnosis fees, shift adjustment fees, and you guessed it, about $500 in completely unrelated heater hose replacements (these DID need to be done) they informed me they had adjusted the shifter but something was wrong with the transmission, they were very vague with what they actually fixed, why had my car not been able to move before and now it could??? They never mentioned anything about the axles except they were in poor condition and ripped rubber boots. They mentioned because of this they should be replaced at some point. OK, point noted, I can deal with some ripped rubber boots for a few more miles as long as the car can drive.
I drove the car NO MORE THAN 10 miles before the exact same thing happened, PACIFIC GERMAN left me stranded on the highway for 2 hours while I used my last AAA tow to bring my car back to Pacific German. I waited another couple days and miraculously got the car back in the same condition as before when they had finished working on it (meaning they AGAIN fixed whatever went wrong but refused to tell me what it was and made darn sure not to admit any fault) They did not charge me for this miracle again either. I would have refused payment. This time the owner personally talked to me which was nice, said they again adjusted the shifter (NOT my main concern at this point) and threw out a $6,000 estimate to rebuild the transmission. Haha. Not going that route just yet.
I did not trust them or the work they do at this point, I drove my Audi (very carefully) to the same guy who worked on my Ford's for a quarter the price and he told me the axles were a mess, and likely the main cause of my problem, in fact before even looking at the car from my description he said it sounded like the axle had come loose. Why could he do this and Shawn's shop couldn't? I ordered new solid front axles from JHM as was my plan anyways since they were leaking grease (as noted by pacific german) and my local American car guy installed them, he said when he took out the old axles they literally fell apart . I also had him do all front end components while he was in there, struts, tie rod ends, control arms. It feels like a new car. I have now driven over 100 hard miles and am starting to trust its reliability again.
Definitely not a good experience.
Id like to personally thank Shawn for being so unprofessional, and for telling me my car came in as a "POS, and still is a POS", and "nobody wanted to touch it" Ok, Shawn then don't. Save me $800 dollars and another tow while I sit on the side of the highway.
Shawn is now threatening to sue me over this review but I will not delete it because it's exactly...
Read moreEXTREMELY unprofessional. My tow truck driver caused an accident with the owners car and the owner held that completely against us and our repair process. Shaun held my car for about 2 weeks before even starting repairs. When I finally did get my car back, it was after I called and asked for updates as the shop had very little communication with me. My car ended up having the same problem a few months after repairs and when I took it back to be looked at again, I was told I needed 2 weeks for an appointment. Thatâs decently standard so I waited my 2 weeks and then drove it down. On my way home I got a text saying to pick up my car because they refused to work on it. They denied service for âpersonal reasonsâ. The shop owner, Shaun, said it was because I hadnât called to check on him or if his car got fixed because of the accident that was not my fault and had nothing to do with me or the repair of my car. He waited 2 weeks and let me waste the gas to drive my car over to the shop so he could refuse service because it was âpersonalâ. Ended up having to take it to the dealership and was informed all the repairs were covered under a warranty. Pacific German either wasnât educated enough on current Volkswagen news to know about the warranty (a major red flag for a European car repair shop) or decided to not inform me about it. Shaun was EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. He threw me and my father out of his shop when we asked to see a printed copy of our receipt.
I have proof of all of these things and am absolutely astounded at the behavior of a full grown adult man in his place of business. my experience at pacific German was hands down the most unprofessional and disappointing experiences in a auto shop.
EDIT: If you want to see an example of the unprofessionalism, look at Seanâs response below lol. The car was hit in the front bumper and honestly not that badly. It was not totaled in the SLIGHTEST as far as my and HIS insurance informed me. That is such an insane exaggeration. They recommended a reused car part for the repair of my car after we considered taking service elsewhere because of the insanely expensive part they offered, which was FULLY covered by a Volkswagen warranty they didnât tell us anything about. Also the part they used DIDNâT WORK after they told us it would regardless of it being used. You think a repair shop would make sure the part works regardless of it being used or not but Iâm not a mechanic đ¤ˇđťââď¸ what do I know? Again, I have legal documentation and proof because I DID cooperate with both my and their insurances regardless of the fact that the accident had nothing to do with me at all. But if you really wanna beef with a girl 1/3 of your age but twice as mature of you, be my guest Sean. Itâs only...
Read morePacific German is by far thee best place to bring your car in for service or any performance needs. This was my first time visiting Pacific German and my VW Rabbit needed some love. I donât like taking my car just anywhere, and if youâre a car enthusiast you wouldnât either. I normally would go to the dealership thinking thatâs the only place that could service my car to the best quality. MAN WAS I WRONG. My brother recommended me to bring my car here although I lived in Riverside, and this was the best thing I could have done for my VW Rabbit. When I walked in their customer service was amazing, told them what I needed and they were just amazing. I picked up my car and it was SO DAILED in it was like I had a new car. I drove my Rabbit HARD like I normally do and I was just astonished, mind blown, taken back, you name it I was feeling it. Pacific German gave my Rabbit love and took care of her like it was their own. I cant wait to go back, and bring my girls car to them and tell everyone to bring their cars here. Thank you guys, appreciate you. Coming back for more⌠INTAKE oh I can't wait!!!! Good Vibes everyone at Pacific German
In addition to my most recent experience 08.21.2020 My recent experience with Pacific German, here is my story: I was driving and all of a sudden, my car starts to rev up, temperature shot up to HOT and I was freaking out. I pulled over and tuned off my car and called Pacific German to see if they could help. This happened Thursday and I was already had an appointment for Saturday morning. They were so nice over the phone and tried to help me and give me tips to see what might have been the issue. Tyler was so patient, and he had the best customer service. I live in Riverside and my head was not in the right place. Thankfully the team at Pacific German, especially Tyler were amazing as always. They tried to see if there was a friendly shop near me, but the best bet was to have it towed to their shop, which I am so glad I did. One shop near me was trying to pull a fast one and wanted to charge me over a thousand dollars!! But I am so glad I didnât do that and just had it tow from Riverside to their shop!!! Seriously there is no other place I will take my cars to, but to Pacific German. They donât see you as âCha-Chingâ let make money, they see you as people, and turn you into a long-time customer. My rating and experience is by far out of this world!!! Anyone who reads this, TRUST me, you will be satisfied, and you wonât be screwed, plus they warranty their work. Thank you again guys, I and my family...
