Had a recipe I wanted to make but they didn’t carry two of the items. There isn’t a customer service desk to help. I was looking for chutney for my lamb curry recipe. Apparently that isn’t heard of in that store except by a lovely elderly lady that went and checked for me. I wish I got her name she was lovely and a bagger. They don’t carry it anymore. Grocery stores in my area have no management or supervisors to give customer service anymore. They are shooting themselves in the foot to save a buck but loosing customer loyalty in the mean time. The add on TV claims their meat guys are all certified meat cutters and they have the best cuts of meat. This butcher said he had no lamb chops and they only get it when it’s sent to them… that is probably true I have first hand knowledge of this since I too work in an upscale grocery store but can you order it for me? I like that 99% of all Stater Bro's that I've visited has a School's First ATM. That is important to my shopping experience. I don't have to wonder what my account balance is and i can get a "mini statement" as part of my transaction. This particular Stater's wasn't extremely busy which, was great. I got in and out. I am dismayed my the increase in items though. It forces me to shop elsewhere to make my money stretch as im on a limited income with certain exceptions. Im particularly enjoy a visit to the meat and service deli depts. The quality of cold cuts aren't the same as Ralph's but, we're not paying the higher prices. Still, I prefer freshly cut meats and cheeses. As for the meat dept, the prices have gone up but there are good sales that i take advantage of.
