I'm having trouble deciding whether the owner is xenophobic or sexist. I saw another gentleman walking out so I would venture to say it's xenophobia (although he was much older and dressed very nicely, so maybe it's ageism too).
The first time I brought them the Omega Seamaster she told me it was fake because it had a skeleton back (which a large number of Seamasters have). I didn't have the paperwork and promised to return with all the necessary documentation. When I returned a few months later with everything, including the receipt, I was told that since it was purchased in China they wouldn't buy it. Had they read the receipt they would have known it was purchased in Tokyo, Japan at the authorized Omega store in the duty-free area of the Narita international airport. When I brought up that it was purchased at an authorized store they replied that they only buy watches originally purchased in the United States.
So my question is, had the watch been purchased in Zurich, Switzerland (where they are made) or maybe Milan or Paris, would they have accepted that? I would venture to say yes since they are white European countries. Or maybe they believe the US is the only place that sells real Omegas. It's truly shameful that in South County, which has a very large Asian population, they won't consider purchasing an authentic product because it's sold in Japan. The definition is xenophobia. Or maybe it's because I'm a young male with visible...
Read moreMy fiance had his work cut out for him when choosing an engagement ring! I wanted an amethyst stone with an antique setting in yellow gold. One of my first questions after saying yes was "where in the world did you find this perfect ring!?!" He said that when he first came across this shop, they didn't have the ring I wanted. However, that didn't stop them. They listened to everything we needed and within a week they called him saying that they had found our dream engagement ring!! It may not look like much to some but this little beauty has it all!! 1930's setting with our shared birthstone! Fast forward 9 months and I got to meet this incredible team myself. Unfortunately my ring broke and I had to come in and get it fixed. The jewelry box is like a little family. I felt so welcomed as all us women twittered on about my upcoming wedding, the royal wedding and all sorts of girly banter. You can tell that this group of ladies really love what they do and care so much about their customer's experience. While I was there, two different "regulars" came in and out all while singing their praises of this store. What a hidden gem!! I ended up walking away confident that my dream ring would be fixed and purchasing my fiance's wedding ring as well. We will be...
Read moreThe most condescending people you will ever sit in a room with. First of all they had no show room and apparently that was dismantled a couple of years ago. Secondly I brought my mothers engagement ring, she was married in 1954 to my father who bought the ring and it has previously been appraised at $800-$1200. I included also another gift to me that was my aunts platinum 1930s deco style ring with a diamond in the center old mine cut 2/3 of a carrot, and some dental gold. The platinum ring has been appraised no less ever by anyone for about $15-$1800. She offered me $500 for the entire collection. I smell a rat. Never do business with these people!!! Incredibly insulting and clearly trying to hustle me. I probably would do better at a pawnshop even though I would never step in to such a business. What the actual business is going on here. sorry I interrupted their lunchtime. Maybe if they had had something to eat they wouldn’t have been so lightheaded with me. Once again I would never step foot in this business I don’t know how they got all those great reviews but I’m sure they’re nothing but friends who felt sorry and sent...
