Bagels & Brew — Restaurant in Lake Forest

It was super crowded and orders took a very long time. It was about half an hour before we got to place the order then about the same for it to be made. This made my son late and we did not get to eat with him. If you are in a hurry, order online or call in your order, otherwise skip this place. It won't help you to complain about it as they are clearly going as fast as they can and they had a full crew. It is just super busy on weekend mornings. All that being said, the people have always been friendly, just speak up when you order as they have a lot of background noise behind them and with masks on you almost have to yell to be heard The food and coffee here is very good. They offer a lot of options and their supreme sandwiches are the best $5 breakfast you can get. The service and professionalism very bad. The food is ok. My experience today was EXTREMELY BAD. I have a 5 lb Yorkkie dog. She’s very insecure and I never leave her inside the car alone, specially when it’s hot. The sign on the outside said it was dog friendly. I went in to order and while I was in line an employee whom I assumed was the manager came and shouted “ The dog needs to go” “ the dog needs to go” a couples of time and pointing toward the door. Now, I wouldn’t be writing this if she would have been courteous, and approached me as a customer and not shouted at me in front of the whole room, Because I understand some establishments don’t allow pets. But, based on the way she looked at me she assumed I didn’t speak English or I was lesser than her. because She is signaling to me as if I was dumb or did not speak English. This was our first time here and we drove pretty far because we saw they had rainbow bagels which they did not have when we went even though they advertise they have them on weekends :(

The service was OK, we felt rushed trying to read the giant small fonted menu and the employees weren't nice but going through the motions to try to get us out asap.

We ordered two bagels with cream cheese and both of our jaws hurt after eating the bagel as they were pretty hard, kind of stale tasting. The cream cheese was good and they gave a good amount of it but the bagel wasn't the best and didn't have a lot of flavor in them at all as I couldn't taste banana in my banana nut bagel at all. While sitting and eating we heard multiple other unhappy guests and the employees didnt fix the issues that were being brought up.
