We took our vehicle there to get alignment done and replaced two tires. We had a warranty that was supposed to cover for the tires.
When I called and talked to the lady who scheduled the appointment for the vehicle. I made sure to ask if our tires were still covered by the warranty. She told me we were still covered.
So, I then made the appointment with them for that and added in the wheel alignment.
When we dropped off our vehicle to get it fixed. We received a phone call stating it was done.
When we went to go pick up our vehicle, we were told that it was way more than what the price we were told on the phone.
I said, "What happened?" We were under the impression that it was going to be a certain amount.
Oh, they said it was because the warranty didn't cover the tires.
I said we were told by the lady on the phone that our tires were covered.
They said that the warranty didn't cover because the miles expired. I said ok.
But if they expired and as soon as they realized that, why didn't they call us on the phone and ask us if we still wanted to continue to get the service done?
No, phone call about that what so ever!
They put them on and did the work without communicating to us that the warranty expired because of this reason....( because the miles were over and made it expire)
Which would have given us the chance to say yes, continue to do the work, and put them on, or no, we dont want to continue ....
It would have been much better if they communicated with us as soon as they found out out that the warranty expired.
We did not know this until we arrived to pick up our vehicle. So, of course, this upset us.
It would have been no problem paying for the work to be done. But, if we had known this before hand. We would have the choice to back out of the service deal if we wanted .
Because of this experience, the man told us we talked to someone else who did not work at that store. Someone who worked at another Blaine's Farm and Fleet. So when we found out that ,when I called to speak to someone about the warranty, It wasn't that same store. It routes it to other stores that are in the same chain.
We have gone to them before in the past and never had any problem until that day.
So, if you ever have a warranty on tires, make sure you dont have the same experience as us. Make sure that you go right into the store and bring your warranty with and talk to them about it in person. Make sure the communication is very clear . It will save you time and money, and energy.
Thankfully, we had enough to cover the work that was done. But that experience with no communication was horrible!
They should have contacted us and told us that the warranty expired and asked us if we wanted to continue to do the work....
Lack of communication 😒 , is why I'm writing this,so others don't experience the same thing. If this had never happened, I would have given them a better rating. But because of the communication part. We won't be going back there.
I do take responsibility for my part, I should have walked into the store and brought my warranty in with me and talked with them directly. That way, I would have known for sure it was covered.
But because they didn't contact us and let us know it expired before they continued to do the work. We will not be going back to that particular store because of that.
I hope this helps whoever is thinking about getting work done on their vehicle that has a warranty.
Mind you, I made sure to check my warranty and that it was going to cover the tires. The date covered them, and the lady I talked to on the phone said they were covered
But when we get there, we find out that it is not covered because of the miles. I didn't know about the miles part. The lady I spoke with on the phone reassured me they were covered.
So, misunderstanding is what led to this experience. Communication is key with customers. That is why I am giving them a 1 star rating.

I went to this store for two tires for my vehicle. When I called for availability, there were none in store and the pair had to be ordered and paid for in advance. When I went to the store, a regional tire sales rep was there interacting with the clerk, Ryan, who placed my tire order. Other than to add banter, the tire sales rep added nothing to the conversation. I was told the tires would be in store in 3-5 days. Hearing nothing in the time frame, I called the store to verify that the tires had arrived and set an appointment for installation.
During the installation, the employee who was at the counter when I arrived now tells me that the compound and rating of the rear (new) tires does not match the front tires. News to me! I find it troubling that the original employee Ryan, did not call this to my attention when I placed the order.
Then later on, the employee with whom I had placed the original tire order Ryan, approached and said that usually they recommend replacing all four tires and that replacing just the two tires may affect the differential and cause damage to the car! And was I ok with that. If so, they would continue with the installation. Odd that he did not mention that when I placed the order. And odd that the regional tire sales rep would not have mentioned that as well. This is either an attempt at an upsell while your car is on the hoist, or it is outright FRAUD! I'm undecided.
When the job was complete, the service employee reported to Ryan that I should not have been charged about fourteen dollars for parts that were not needed based on my vehicle model; again something that should have been apparent at the time I placed the order. I received a refund for the unneeded parts, but I'm leaving this experience with absolutely NO CONFIDENCE in the employees in the service department.
The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, but as a customer, I WILL NOT be back NOR do I recommend the service department...
