I will gladly change this review when I see change. Today, I had a really frustrating experience at the front desk of a Lake Mary park. And honestly, I get it. I was frustrated, they were frustrated. My kids had to use the bathroom. They were hosting an event. There were kids screaming, people coming in and out, and a lot going on.
But hereās the thing: thereās a very visible sign outside that says āRestroom Available.ā So naturally, I assumed the restroom was available. If I had known it wasnāt, I wouldāve planned differently. I wouldāve stopped at home or taken them to a nearby business before even arriving.
Instead, I walked in with two little ones who urgently needed to go, and I was met with tension, firm resistance, and confusion. Iām not going to get into details because Iām too upset to indulge in my experience and Iām going to try and humanize the behaviorā¦
This wasnāt just a policy issue,it was a communication issue. And I really believe no one is to blame here but the city itself for the lack of clear signage or structure.
These women at the front were likely just trying to do what theyāve been told. But without clear rules, theyāre being left in the middle, facing off with moms in full-on āmama bear modeā,and thatās a lose-lose situation for everyone.
When your child urgently has to go, youāre going to make the call to take them. And until something changes, that same confrontation is going to keep happening at this front desk. Itās not sustainable.
Iām aware of high cost for restrooms but a quick fix, If the restrooms are not available during private events, please update the signage. Donāt leave the sign saying āRestroom Availableā if thatās not actually true. Add a clear note stating when access is restricted due to rentals or events.
This is not about fault, itās about clarity. Letās protect the people hosting events, the front desk staff, and the parents who just need a quick solution for their little ones.
Iām sure Iām not the first mom to deal with this. And Iām sure the women at the desk are tired of these daily standoffs. Itās not working.
Do better, Lake Mary. Itās a fixable issue so...

It was the Pavillion by LMHS. The restroom is always unlocked, I use it during my walks. I think they intentionally locked because of the...
