Nice-N-Easy Sports Bar — Restaurant in Lake Mary

After never giving out a 5-Star Review to a local sports bar and pub before, this is amazingly the second one in a row. And this place deserves it! I moved to Lake Mary a week ago after having just sold my house in Apopka and even though I had lived in the Metropolitan Orlando area and Central Florida since 1980 (Wow! 40 years!) I didn't know this particular area very well. But I find this particular bar has all of the things that I look for in choosing a local sports bar: Pool tables, smoking, good locals supporting the place regularly, and a great staff dedicated to providing quality service to their patrons. Although having great food available may not be a priority on the list, it certainly helps! Nothing too fancy here, but good, dependable "normal" food like I like. All of the bartenders here are outstanding, but both Mary Beth and Bre deserve a shout out now from me! They made me immediately feel welcome and extremely comfortable from the get go. That's of primary importance to me whenever I enter a new establishment & environment. These two young ladies sincerely greeted me, asked me about myself and then actually introduced me to those regulars who shared my interests (in my case it was the regulars who liked playing pool like I do). After a couple of great experiences over the next several days an AMAZING thing actually happened. Two of the owners came up to me separately with huge smiles on their faces and pro-actively introduced themselves as being the owners of the sports pub! Now I know the owners of numerous local bars, but I've never seen one ever go up to a new customer and thank them as sincerely as these 2 greeted me! What a concept..... let the new patron know who the owners are and thank them for coming in. It actually made me feel like an equal to the regulars, because I also now had an owner on my side if I ever have any issues there. Lastly there is a family atmosphere and a great cross-section of nice people in there. If you're living in the area or even perhaps visiting the Lake Mary and Orlando area, come and see where the locals go and have a great time! And why the smart ones come here! I highly recommend...

A good bar. Friendly staff, has a lot of friendly regular locals who patronize the bar. They feature darts, pool, and poker leagues. Beer prices are reasonable with a bottle of bud and similar brands costing $3. They usually have good deals on buckets of beer or pitchers of beers. The bar staff will set you up with a thin crust pizza or chicken wings etc. But sometimes they are limited in their menu due to under staffing in the kitchen. They used to feature salads but they are not doing that any more. They jukebox is old but can be accessed by a new iphone app which is very convenient. (But the jukebox can only accept $5 bills which is lame as heck). Good sports bar as they have about 10 flat screen TV's. Need a place to see an NFL game or major sports event its a good choice for a more low key place to go to. Though they usually have the sound turned down due to the jukebox playing. The bar ambiance is rather dark and even unkempt and this is the main area they can improve the most. Bathroom are no better than fair. The bar owner could improve his interpersonal communication tactic- i.e. he's not very friendly. He also tends to have a no nonsense attitude with difficult patrons. Which can be both good and bad if you tend to get a little rowdy when you drink. For example, I've seen him get a little too nasty too quickly with some nice people who were probably underage it wasn't that he was wrong to tell the to leave... it was how he told them is what I am...

Bartenders rushed us out at 1:40am. They said it was 2am on “their clock.” They refused to listen to their patrons. I won’t return to this bar for this simple reason. It’s unfortunate as up until this point, I enjoyed my stay. Thanks for the few visits I came by. I hope things change for the better.

Denise and Stephanie were the bartenders. They continued to repeat that they wanted to go home at 1:41am after just 10mins prior, I paid a $115 tab with a $25 tip. It’s as if my money didn’t matter. Like, thanks for the tip but get out.
