4th Street is a local place I've tried to frequent since COVID started. It being a local place I wanted to show support and provide business. I've ate usually on the patio and the last few times I've gone have been worse and worse until the last time Thursday Nov 19th around 7-8pm. I had dinner with my family on the patio, ordered 10 wings. The boneless wings were overcooked and extremely salty. I tried to get through and keep eating but at 6 wings I asked the waitress for just some fries the wings were too salty. She brought the fries and said her manager said that since it was wing night I had to pay for the 6. That's fine, it's 6 wings and I understood and didn't complain. 5 minutes later the manager, Mike I believe, comes out and makes a scene in front of the patio asking why I ate the 6 and that I was going to pay for them and continuing to interrogate me in front of not only my family but the entire patio. I explained they were just too salty to continue and I wasn't disputing paying for the wings I had (we didn't ask for anything to be removed or comped from our meal at all). I explained to him it's extremely rude that he's in front of other customers having a customer explain why he didn't like the food especially when I hadn't asked or argued about anything. I called the next day and spoke to the female manager on duty around 11am and explained the issue. She offered to send a gift card. I'm not trying to score a free meal or a card, all I wanted was for Mike to give me a call once he had cooled off and offer a simple apology and talk to me about the event. I've never received a call back, I've called another time to offer another chance for a call but it seems to fall on deaf ears.
I've never written a review about a restaurant but felt compelled to share my experience for a restaurant that apparently doesn't care for my return business, my families return business and I will be sharing this experience with my friends to skip on this place. I hope the $4 worth of wings I had to pay for were worth the potential continued...
Read moreThis was only my third visit to 4th Street Bar & Grill even though I've lived in Lake Mary for 35 years. First visit the food was mediocre. Second visit was just drinks at the bar. Today's visit has convinced me not to try a fourth time. Service was extremely slow. Understaffed? Maybe. Just about every restaurant is. We received beverages fairly quickly. But from that time to when our order was taken seemed like at least 15 minutes. Finally put in our order. Tacos for her and snapper sandwich for me. Mine would come with regular fries and she upgraded to sweet potato fries. After what seemed like another 20 minutes the food comes out. Two orders of tacos. Not sure who screwed up my order. Did the server order the wrong thing or did the kitchen prepare the wrong meal? We'll never know. Our server finally comes back to the table to address the problem. Since it took so long to get food, I told him to just cancel my order. I'm not going to wait another 20+ minutes for the correct meal to come out while the other member of my party finishes her meal. So how were her tacos? The fish was dry and the sweet potato fries were barely warm. So bad, in fact, that she ate one taco, tried to eat a second but just couldn't do it. Third taco untouched. Rather than ask if there was a problem with her tacos, our server asked if she wanted a box. So how did the manager handle this you ask? The manager never came to the table. No apology from a manager or the server. In fact, when I told him I wanted to cancel my order he asked if I was sure and asked if I wanted the tacos instead. If I wanted tacos I would have ordered tacos. Bad service seems to be a common theme in restaurants these days. Combine bad service with bad food and you have a disastrous combination. New management might improve this restaurant. I hope for their sake they can get their act together. Why two stars instead of one? It's a nice looking restaurant and the iced...
Read moreWorst experience ever!! I ordered the Firecracker shrimp that was advertised as hand battered fried shrimp tossed and served with jasmine rice topped with crispy wontons, garnished with green onions and drizzled with our house made bang bang sauce. This meal was awful the shrimp was covered with basic batter which resembled shake & bake but with no flavor whatsoever. Rice was not jasmine rice it tasted like burnt microwave stale rice. I was so dissatisfied that I sent the dish back and ordered the Cuban sandwich advertised as pressed Cuban bread with Swiss cheese, slow roasted hand pulled pork, sliced ham and salami topped with spicy mustard and crunchy dill pickles. Once it came out I tried to pick up the sandwich to take a bite but the bread was so soggy. By this point I lost my appetite and just wanted to leave. I was there with my husband, and in-laws. My father in-law order a burger medium but it was burnt he had to cut off all burnt pieces before he can eat it. My aunt ordered the fish tacos and there was barely any fish in it and was dry. Manager Mike came to our table and immediately said “who had the burger?” Defensive about the quality and said well you ate the burger if you weren’t satisfied then you should of returned it. My father in-law was so confused and speechless because he suffers from Alzheimer's disease, then argued with my aunt about the fish taco and how that’s a normal portion for the fish tacos with more slaw then normal. Once he was done he asked what was wrong with my meal trying to defend the food as if he cooked it. It was just very odd for a manager to behave in that manner towards paying customers. I was shocked at how impersonalable he was towards customers. We weren’t satisfied with the quality of the food and how long it took to prepare. It was a Thursday night. Needless to say I will never return and I will spread the news about how the food was disgusting and how unprofessional the manager was. Our waitress was...
