H Salon and Skin Spa — Local services in Lake Stevens

It's not everyone in the salon, but the stylist my daughter and I had did very strange things to our hair. We both had long not thin but not overly thick, healthy hair and wanted some basic layering. What I got was two big shelves, ratty looking ends and I looked like I had thin hair. Had someone else look at and found out she had undercut my hair all over the place. Thus making it look like I had unhealthy, ratty hair. I had to wear it up till I could have someone look at it. Now, I have medium length hair in an attempt to cut out all the undercutting, but will still have to grow it out for another 10-12 months to get it UT again properly. My daughter only had layers that went up a few inches, but her hair ended up being about 3-4 inches shorter than she wanted. And yes, we both had pictures and articulated EXACTLY what we were each looking for. The woman articulated back and so we let her do her thing. Never going back. Back to our salon in Bothell. I have been a long-time client, but have never taken the time to post a review. During the lengthy COVID closure, I developed a new level of appreciation for my stylist, Terri. She kept in communication with me about re-opening plans, and had me scheduled quickly as soon as it was allowed. And when they did reopen, I was very impressed with the thought and care that went into safety precautions for clients and staff. They are limiting the number of people in the salon by having you call or text your arrival, and they let you know when you can come in (I waited about 2 minutes the first time and had no wait the second time). They are screening for temperatures, have hand sanitizer everywhere, and are stepping up sanitizing work stations between clients. Staff and clients all wear masks. I love getting my hair done by Katlyn at H Salon!

I first came to her over a year ago for what I thought was a "simple balayage" without realizing I was in need of color correcting to remove some faded red toned color from a previous stylist. My hair color did not turn out as anticipated on the first try, and she made it a point to quickly book a second appointment at no extra charge to get it right, so right out of the gate she stood behind her work and did a phenomenal job.

Since then, I have been back a few times for cut and color and she always knocks it out of the park.

She really has great attention to detail, and takes the time to make everything look flawless. She also explains the process as she is working, which seems unique in my experiences.

10/10 recommend going to Katlyn. I haven't had any services done by other stylists there, but the results I see on other clients while I am there are also great.
