I usually love coming to Haggen. But recently I went in and was going to make a salad at the salad bar. The romaine lettuce was horrible, wilted and gross. I asked if it could be chained by the lady right behind the salad bar counter and she told me it wasn’t her department and that I would have to go talk to the people on the other side. So...not having a lot of time but still not wanting a wilted salad (I couldn’t buy a premade one because I was buying a salad for a vegetarian and she is also lactose intolerant. The premade salads offered nothing for someone with those limitations...back to making my salad...as I was walking over to ask about the lettuce, I saw them already talking about me as I walked over (because of my hard of hearing, I have to be able to read lips..nice insults ladies) She informed me she had just put the lettuce out an hour ago as I continued to show her how gross the lettuce was. At that point I apologized for causing any inconvenience and was told no problem and I went to make my salad. I did get new lettuce and saw it come out of the bag, but it was still crummy lettuce. And it was mainly stalk pieces. Oh and I rang out over in the deli too and the young lady ringing me out acted like being at work was the last place she wanted to be I think I’m just going to stay on the other side of the store, where I have ALWAYS been treated great! It’s nice to have a store so close, but if I need a deli department, I will go somewhere else and will recommend somewhere...

Upon entering the Lake Stevens Haggen I find myself transported to a land of exquisite aromas and colors. I look to my right and find a glass case filled with familiar comforts and exotic foods, punctuated by a delicious display of meats and cheeses cut perfect for any sandwich. I urge my heart to be still as I find the courage to move through the sea of color that is the fresh produce department. As I round the corner I see a gruesome sight in the distance and I find myself transfixed. Before me lays perfect cuts of several different animals, all laying in a bed of clean ice. Mesmerized I move on and walk past a large dairy section with so many choices I feel a chill trying to decide where to begin. Feeling I cant take anymore I see my last hurdle ahead of me, the bakery. Immediately I am struck with the sweet stench of fresh bread and I find myself falling to the clean tile below. Only at the last second i see I'm not falling but being carried by the unearthly aroma that is their french bread and brownies. The woman at the check stand can't help but notice I've just been through a life changing experience and makes the purchasing of my treasures not just painless but enjoyable with precision and a voice made from the wonderful honey that is found only a few isles away. I leave feeling enlightened and secure that I will servive the harsh world outside a few...
