Lake Stevens Ace — Local services in Lake Stevens

I always go to my local hardware store before I go to the big box store but sometimes I call or I try to call because certain things Ace does not carry. So it would be nice if somebody would actually answer the phone. I called three times and just got a recording and then answering machine. It’s Monday so there’s no reason why they can’t answer the phone and it’s almost 11 AM. I wouldn’t normally write this review, but this is not the first second third or fourth time that I’ve run into issues where I can’t get anybody to answer the phone to answer a simple question as to whether you carry something or not. It may seem petty, but it saves me a trip to Snohomish or Marysville, Home Depot. If I know that my local hardware store has the item I’m looking for. I’m gonna drive the 3 miles into town instead of driving 30 minutes. Out of my way.. There’s been several times I’ve come in there in the last couple months where employees couldn’t be bothered to be helped or you get asked so many times if you need help that you are now being annoyed. If a customer says no thank you that should be the end of it. There’s no reason to come back around a second or third time and ask again. It’s appreciated, but that can also be annoying. Females are competent. A lot of us have a lot of skills. We don’t constantly need monitoring.. It’s funny because I say that and I don’t mean it as a disrespect because it’s appreciated when help is offered because normally you can stand there twiddling your thumbs for 10 minutes and not find anybody but then when somebody’s actually working in the floor, they bug you until you get annoyed ha ha So it’s good and it’s bad. But the phone issue I get it you guys are busy, but there’s gotta be one person capable of answering the phone to answer a question that would probably take 10 seconds. That part, I don’t understand. I called when you guys opened no answer. I called an hour later no answer and I called just a few minutes ago no answer. So off to...

If you are reading this and you still go to Home Depot or Lowe's, I implore you to stop. Ace hardware is the best for many reasons, including but not limited to the following:

• Attentive and numerous employees ○ If you are like me there is one thing you hate about the huge home improvement stores and that's trying to find a warm body to assist you with more than just pointing in the opposite direction of the building before plodding off down an aisle never to be seen again.

• Very Competitive prices ○ I have purchased things at Ace that were much better priced than anyother store, including online. A great example is LED floods for recessed lighting. $9.99 for 6, usually $49.99. Are you kidding me?! Love it. • Perfect store size ○I never have to wonder around the massive aisles looking for what I need. The store is exactly the size you'd want and I have never left without finding what I need. This includes but is not limited to sheet rock, fertilizer, dremel bits, lights, hoses, screws and bolts, etc.

I've been sitting at the counter in the helpful hub section for 15 minutes now there was one employee that walked in didn't even make eye contact with me picked up the phone and asked for additional help then left not saying a word about 7 minutes later another employee walks in same thing no eye contact stands there facing the opposite direction of me finally pull something from behind the counter and walks out no eye contact. Then finally the first guy comes back "what do you need?" he says. I say I bought something on-- before I could finish my sentence he interrupted and said "what's the item number?" and what is your name. I've had this type of experience every time I've been to this location I don't know if it has to do with me being brown or what. But I have to be honest I get that evil vibe when going there and this is the second time I've ever said that in my life.
