I dont really write reviews, but I had a bad experience trying to cancel my membership due to moving away from the gym location. I signed a one year contract back in December 2024 but decided to move a few months later to Puyallup. To be honest I didnt know what I was signing because I just wanted to get it over with + I didnt have intentions to move. I reached out to customer support to cancel my membership and they said there is nothing they can do because I signed a 1 year membership. I moved 70 miles away. No one is going to travel 70 miles to work out. I am going to lose ~$550 dollars because they are forcing me to maintain payments to the contract. If I could give zero stars on this review I would but google makes you choose 1. As a warning to any new customers dont sign the 1 year contract. Also they were charging $55 a month for a gym that was being renovated. Strength equipment was good but cardio machines looked pre-historic. Go to any other gym but this one
I am going to add this to the review since I cant reply to the owner.
If I had a crystal ball to tell me what my life would look like in the future, I would have gone month to month upon signing up to this gym. Iād also be a millionaire in the stock market. The fact is no one does. If I was still located near the gym, I would have continued to use it and honor the contract. I am 70 miles away now. Instead of talking down to customers, how about you work with them to find a different solution? Maybe do a contract buyout option. What I was told is nah you signed the contract I donāt care about your situation, be an adult and pay for a membership that you donāt even use. This questions the reason why the gym opened in the first place. Was it for money, or does the Pursuit Fitness team actually care about the health and well-being of its customers? I am upset because I chose to go to a non-corporate gym because I thought it would be more accommodating and the potential for a great lifting community. I didnāt care that it was being renovated, I didnāt mind the machines or the bathroom setup. Instead I was treated like a membership # paying Pursuit Fitnessās bills. But here we are. I feel ripped off and want to warn other potential customers how I feel so they could avoid this pain if possible. If we can come up to a reasonable arrangement, I will edit this review and give it high remarks which I was intending on doing because I liked the gym. But here we are. I feel taken advantage of and want to warn other potential customers of how the owners and management really feel about their members. End of the day, Pursuit Fitness wins because they will get my money, all I have is this Google review that no...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePursuit Fitness in Lake Stevens leaves a lot to be desired.
The gym and bathrooms are dirty, and equipment is often scattered and out of place, making it hard to find what you need.
The manager is incredibly disrespectful and lacks basic customer service skills.
For the higher price compared to Planet Fitness (literally right next door), I expected better quality and cleanliness, but this gym falls short.
The gym is consistently busy, making it hard to use equipment without waiting.
As for the sauna, itās a joke. It barely produces heat and feels more like a warm closet than a proper sauna due to cold air constantly leaking through the thin wood panels
Harsh bright white lights make it feel like youāre more of an asylum than you are a gym.
Please at a minimum explore the gym, make sure itās what you want, then wait 2 days to think about it before you do something foolish like signing a 12 month contract with a gym you realize will never suit you (also the bathroom fan is much better at making noise than blowing air)
About 15-20% of the machines are old and unserviced, which causes dangerous conditions, loud noise, and worn out parts.
There is a constant high pitched ear piercing noise in the main room, every day.
But hey, at least the front desk staff were nice.
Save yourself the money and frustration, Planet Fitness is a much better option in every way.
If you plan to respond to this review, please do so in an open minded manner, I hope this critique will help pursuit improve and potentially compete with planet fitness one day.
PS: Eric if your seeing this I hope one day you can look past your fragile ego š
If I can save one person from coming here, my purpose is fulfilled.
Also if you want to win any of their competitions, youāre going to need to glaze the gym with good reviews to wash out all the real reviews. āWritten testimonialā this so called competition is nothing more than an advertising campaign. and with their entry fee, are they even giving away any money? I think not. Itās more of a glorified lottery except in this one you must say good things or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am writing this review because I have read a few of the negative reviews, and almost all of them are false or specifically trying to undermine all the work that has gone into the gym. First off, let me say that if you are a serious weightlifter this is a great gym for you, especially because we really don't have one in the Snohomish or Lake Stevens area. Since THE PUSUIT took over they have been doing massive upgrades and construction on the entire space and the wait was worth it. I never have a problem getting on a machine, the place is almost always spotless, and if there is a problem a staff member addresses it immediately. The manager, Randall, is super easy to talk to and even upon asking him about certain equipment that I personally would like to see added (Heavy bag for instance) he very politely and calmly explained to me why they probably wouldn't have one.
All of the staff, Matt, Ryan, Esther, and crew are super personable and will always chit chat with me or greet me when I walk in and when I leave.
But above all my biggest compliment is all the new equipment they have added, and the environment they are cultivating. When you walk in it is very clear that this is a GYM. Not A social club. Most of the members are pretty serious Weightlifters/bodybuilders, powerlifters or serious about their health and fitness, and the new gym rules and environment reflect that. I have been around since the team fitness days and I love what they have done with the place. They're doing their best to keep the chaos and inconsiderate people to a minimum and the positive workout environment to a maximum.
Keep up the...
