Worst ihop ive ever been to. My family and I have been here a total of 3 times, each visit worse than the last. 1st visit (1 month after grand opening, granted it was busy): I don't what was going on but our waiter was no where in sight after ordering our food, after an hour i asked another waiter to check on our food plz.. The waiter returns and says its done and waiting for our waiter to bring it to us (why didnt this other waiter grab and bring it to us?) The gm was over seeing the whole store standing right next to our booth (the whole time) and decided he would finally bring us our food after all our other waiters failed (the gm should have stepped in earlier). 2nd visit (2 months later, hoping when we returned everyone would be settled into their jobs): my whole family and i order and they decide to bring the food out 1 by 1, my kids get their food first (most important first) which i appreciated, but then my husbands comes out and its the steak and eggs w/ a side of toast (after my kids finish eating, & they forget his toast), so by the time i get my breakfast my husband and kids have finished their food (so im feeling rushed cuz im the only one eating while my family waits for just me to be done and we had already been there for more than an hour) half way through my breakfast i just ask for a to go box and guess what they brought out for us finally? Our freaking toast that we asked for like 5x. 3rd visit (another 1 or 2 later, hoping they have gotten their jobs down aka last try at this ihop): This time its my son's birthday, and i tell the waiter that brings us to our table cuz i know this location has been awful previously (she says she is gonna gather everyone and they will sing). Well our waiter for our table comes and grabs our drink orders (3 hot teas, consisting of hot water and a tea bag) and i repeat its my son's bday and he says he will gather and sing. Half hour later we get the emtpy cups and a tea bag for only 2 people. Another half hour later we get our 3rd tea bag and cup, still no hot water (thought hot tea was easy). Finally hot water another half hour later (so now its been almost an hour and a half waiting on hot water), i have told 5x waiters its my son's bday cuz this was a special birthday breakfast for my son.. And by the end of our two hour venture no one came to sing and our neighboring table ended up saying happy birthday cuz they felt bad no one said happy birthday. I have giving this place plenty of time to clean their act up, but it seems this location has proven to me more than once that it will never be a place i wanna go.
I will not return to this location, i live right next door and thought i would enjoy the convenience, but i will now be driving to marysville or everett to get better,...
Read moreHonestly, I should have written a review a lot sooner .I have eaten at the Lake Stevens IHOP since it opened. At first the service was quite bad, but I gave it a second chance and it actually became quite decent. About 12-18 months ago, something changed and since then it has been a horrible experience.out of 3 times of going here I have had very poor service and on the 4th I was refused service. I have went I have sworn that I wouldn’t go back but this time was definitely the last.
The first 2 times of the 4 mentioned above, the service was poor due to my food being cold. Not even warm, but COLD! Both times my food was remade for me, one of the those time 3 times before it came hot. The manager actually argued with me when I told him it was cold the second time, claiming he made it himself. It wasn’t until I convinced him to stick his finger in the sausage to feel the temp for home self that he agreed to make it a 3rd time in which it finally came out hot. Trip # 3 ended up being a huge disappointment after ordering an Oreo shake and a sampler platter. The shake came out literally the consistency of chocolate milk and was barely cold. When the platter came out I was informed that they had no ranch dressing or honey mustard sauce… the final time which was tonight, I was refused service. The only reason I even attempted it is because IHOP claims to be open until 12AM and there wasn’t any other choices but fast food. I showed up a little after 10:20 pm, there were approx. 4 other tables with people, 1 couple were just leaving, one was just being served and one other that I could see had food on the table. After about 10 minutes of patiently waiting, a lady named Karmen came to the front and told me that they weren’t seating anyone else. When I replied that it’s 10:30 and they are supposed open until midnight she responded by saying that they only had 1 cook, and that I need to leave. Really? No more chances with this place.
Bottom line is that I actually like IHOP in general. I’ve eaten I hop in CA, Florida, Nevada, Idaho and usually have no problems at all. I usually get good service with no problems in both Everett locations, and the new Monroe location as well. It’s a complete shame that I can’t seem to get good service at home here in Lake Stevens, especially when there aren’t a lot of choices here, especially after 9 pm. I wish IHOP would step in and do something about these service problems instead of the franchise owner simply giving an apology to all the people getting crap service and writing a 1 star review. As a business owner myself I know that it’s not the employees that are the problem, it’s the management...
Read moreWow, I so rarely rate restaurants, but had to vent I guess. Was so excited to see a new IHOP open at Frontier Village in Lk. Stevens.
That said, I have been there twice for my IHOP favorite Swedish Crepe combo. It's a nice building, bigger than it appears when you drive up.
-1st visit Sunday afternoon, 8/24/18 was seated by hostess, restaurant not busy. I sat for 15 minutes no one came, had to go find someone to bring coffee & bring me a menu. FINALLY got a good attentive waitress, food arrived hot.
-2nd visit, restaurant not busy, was seated by gal who said she was my waittess. She got my hot beverage right away and said she was really busy and would get back to get my order as soon as she could. 10+ minutes later returned to take my order, I waited forever for my food, another employee finally brought it to my table, it was barely warm like it had been up for quite a while. There was a side of hasbrowns I hadn't ordered. I told waitress my food wasn't hot, got some half baked excuses. Asked her for some Tabasco, waited, waited some more, she did not bring any. I noticed bottles of Tabasco on the serving station 10 feet from my table so I got up to get it myself. The waitress noticed, hurried over, grabbed the Tabasco and told me she was going to bring it to me. (My thought, you were going to bring it when?)
She brought my bill, I asked her to removed hashbrowns from my bill that I hadn't ordered. She brought bill back hashbrowns still on bill, asked her again to remove, when she returned the bill was not a regular print out, she said it won't print out when you redo it, wanted me to just sign the weird receipt she had brought. She had just told me earlier she was the only one who knew how to do this. Finally another server, possibly the manager came over, immediately reissued the bill correctly for me to sign and said she'd have to show the staff how to do it.
My waitress👎lots of excuses, unorganized and gave ridiculously awful service while saying about how much she had to do and how well she did it.
Hopeful this unorganized IHOP can work out it's untrained employee and service issues. Seriously, come on IHOP!
I want to like this place, I'd like to maybe try it again some day, we'll see. Yet again it might be worth the 10+ mile drive to the other IHOP...
