Sarah's Candies — Local services in Lake Township

Molly was extremely rude. The proper equipment wasn’t available to get the candy out of the bins. Tried to scoop the long sour strips out with the scoop with very lil success. I scooped the ones I wanted to the front and carefully picked ONLY the ones I was taking to put in my bag, because they wouldn’t go on the scoop and kept falling off. Molly proceeds to scold me and tell me she has to deal with children put their hands in the bin grabbing candy all day. I tell her I’m not a child and only grabbed the couple pieces candy I wanted to put in my bag because the scoop wouldn’t work to grab it. When she tells me I should have used something else to grab the candy. I told her there is nothing out to grab the candy except the scoop which wasn’t working. She proceeds to talk down to me & I left the store with out my candy. I went back to get her name for being rude and talking down to me, when I see Molly putting gloves out for customer to use to help get the candy out of the bin. I told her, oh now you put the gloves out to help customers get the candy out.

I am a business owner myself, and there is a much better way to handle this situation. If she had simply come up with the gloves and apologized for not having them out initially and asked me to use the gloves, it wouldn’t have been a problem at all. I understand how cross contamination works & if gloves or tongs had been available, I would have used them. I fly through Chicago fairly regularly and won’t be returning.
