Book Brothers — Local services in Lakewood

I was walking down with my friends during the summer of 2021, looking for a place to eat, we passed by the store from across the street and in my peripheral, I saw the word ‘Book,’ which made me stop and do a double take (I am definitely a bookworm). I realized it was a book store and my two friends and I ended up running across the street and into the coolest store ever (we ended up getting food almost two hours later). CDS, Vinyls, Postcards, Books, Pins, Movies, and more. This store not only expanded my love for reading but served as a place of bonding and shared excitement with my friends. It holds memories and serotonin. You won’t be disappointed with the prices, the aesthetic, the ideology of using second hand books instead of mass producing and buying, and the kindness of the owner himself (who is the sweetest person ever). To be completely honest, I may be biased as a bookworm but I’m currently a junior in HS and if I go to colleges or whenever I end up, when I visit my town again, this place will always be on my list to go back to and remember. I hope to end up like the guy running this place, surrounded by books, looking rad behind a desk with postcards spread across, and too many vinyls to count. Was told on the phone that they would purchase books however what they don't tell you on the phone is that they will buy your books for under $10.00 and resell them for over $40.00. this is not a good place to purchase or sell any books.

Update. My above review is a mild review and my personal opinion. I was contacted by the owner who got my phone number from when I called him. He stated that my review is "hostile" and that I was trying to "destroy his business". I personally feel harassed by the interaction with this business by calling me to try to get my review changed. He stated that I didn't make a counter offer however i did and when i reminded him he stated that he forgot. He claims that he buys books and rejects books daily. I personally feel that this is not the proper way to handle a customer who had a bad experience. I honestly felt very belittled from him calling me and speaking to me...

So I visited this past week and the place smelled off, like a old musky smell and I passed it off as the books at first but I picked up a book from the bottom shelf and there was mold on it! This place is not clean at all and to top it off the guy behind the counter was on his phone the entire time bad mouthing someone, I left as fast as I could! First off this is not how a business should carry itself, CLEAN THE DAMN PLACE! SERIOUSLY there's these things called air fresheners and soap and sponges. But I didn't feel comfortable with how he was talking so I decided to not ask any questions and leave. Do BETTER man!

Update. I have watched the reviews for this and I've watched all the positive reviews come in and they all seem similar I believe this man is five starring himself with his friends or other accounts the store seems suspicious...
