Doc Lanky’s — Restaurant in Lakewood

Went here on a Sunday craving an incredible pizza. Their smashburger also looked divine. We were curious, so we made a 35 minute drive. BOY, did they deliver.

We sat at the bar and our bartender was wonderful. He was attentive, friendly and let us try a sample of a cocktail for the holiday.

Food: The pizza we ordered? Phenomenal. Just a simple cheese and pepperoni. Between the sauce, the cheese pull, and the flavors, I was amazed. It was like that slice of pizza many 90s kids dream of from A Goofy Movie. We also ordered a smashburger with cheese and caramelized onions. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, no notes.

For drinks: we ordered an albino coffee stout, which was fresh and crisp and a holiday cocktail (Mrs. Claus) which was so great, I had to get a second one.

This is about to be Lakewood’s best bar. First of all, the food is incredible. Wings, pizza, burgers - they have everything. Probably the best chicken tenders I’ve had in my life, no joke. They’re huge. They even have a gourmet chopped cheese sandwich. So good.

On top of that, the drinks are CHEAP. I’m talking $3 beers and super affordable cocktails (which are delicious by the way, Tony the bartender is masterful). I recommend the Westsider, but if you’re looking to jumpstart your night with something unique - order a “Little Beer”. You won’t regret it.

I’ve already been here 5 times and each time was a delight. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. When you do, tell ‘em Shaver...

Didn't hate it but certainly didn't love it. If your menu says Great Lakes Seasonal and I ask the bartender what your seasonal is, I expect a different response than "the seasonal". And then, when I ask WHICH seasonal, the bartender doesn't know. Even after walking away for a few minutes to find out, I still am unsure of what beer was poured.

Then, while sitting there, sipping on my mystery beer (that was way overpriced) I see what appears to be a manager (maybe the owner?) come behind the bar, take a handful of fries from a plate that's sitting at the bar and eat it, I'm not very impressed.
