The AnnTaylor "store manager" is insulting and exploiting young saleswoman in front us!
On LaborDay holiday, my daughter, friends, and I visited the Ann Taylor store at Eastwood Towne Center. While shopping, we were assisted by a young sales Katie (a college age Asian lady), who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and kindness. She offered thoughtful styling advice and helped us select clothing with genuine enthusiasm and care. She is absolutely the BEST sales!
However, while we were trying on items, an older woman abruptly approached and yelled at K in front of us, her face is the rudest ugliest one I have ever seen, she yelled "go to do gobacks!" to K, then hastily walking away. She is not only extremely rude to K but also disrespectful to all of us! She is ordering K to stop helping us! We were totally shocked! Is this old woman the store manager? At the time, K appeared to be the only staff assisting customers, with all the crowded customers, she is working her tail off! I later saw that old woman was chatting with another staff at the backend of the store, they were not working at all. That old woman (is she the store manager? ) behavior both inappropriate and deeply unsettling, a bold insulting, bullying and discrimination! It's very serious!
K was visibly distressed, holding back tears, yet she continued to assist us with remarkable composure and professionalism. Concerned for her well-being, we asked whether the older woman was her boss. K did not respond directly, choosing instead to maintain a polite demeanor and continue helping us. (we all felt so sorry to her! especially seeing a hard working young girl younger than my daughter been mistreated in such a rude and discriminative way!)
We were appalled by the older woman's behavior, which we perceived as demeaning and disrespectful--particularly given that K, who appeared to be of college age Asian Lady, was working diligently under considerable pressure. If this individual is indeed the store manager, her conduct raises serious concerns about the mistreatment of employees at this location. She need to be fires immediately!
Such behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the brand of Ann Taylor. If this incident is indicative of the store's bullying and exploitation culture or management practices, we will be compelled to reconsider our patronage of "Ann Taylor". We urge the company to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action to ensure that employees are treated with dignity and respect regardless of age and race! Ann Taylor needs to compensate the young lady for the mistreatment and exploitation she received!
STOP shopping at Ann Taylor Stores until this store manager is fired! If Ann Taylor mistreating its young employees, they are mistreating, disrespect, discriminating customers too! We don't want to give business to such...

I came across a review regarding an incident that occurred during the Labor Day holiday, and I feel compelled to share our experience as well. On that day, the store is full of customers, guess because of the big holiday sell, while shopping at the store, we witnessed a disturbing older womanâwho looks like the store managerârepeatedly and suddenly ran to Katie and yelled at her loudly, rudely in very aggressive manner, she insulted the young lady! Her behavior was abrupt, inappropriate, and deeply unsettling, she disturbed all of the customers! She then rushed to the back of the store and chat with another woman staff, neither of whom were assisting customers, despite all of the customers were lined up waiting for Katie's help, she is the only one working! And Katie is so organized, efficiently handling all the work.
One particularly troubling moment occurred when Katie was assisting a customer by retrieving an item from a mannequin. The older woman suddenly ran into her and rudely yelled at Katie, saying âyou're slow,â then walked away abruptly like a drunker, she appear to be on drug or mental crisis! Herself was not doing her job, not helping customer at all. The old woman's behavior was not only unprofessional but also publicly insulting for a hardworking employee, destroyed our shopping experience! Her misconduct raises serious concerns about her mental fitness for working!
As loyal Ann Taylor customers, we were shocked by the lack of proper management and the mistreatment of a promising young employee. We have continued to discuss the incident and feel strongly that it should be brought to Ann Taylorâs leadership. We support the sentiments expressed by other customers and urge the company to take appropriate action to fire the store manager, address the toxic culture issues, respect and treat young employees fairly, give customers a positive shopping environment!

Read moreI tried hard but couldn't find the place to submit a review on the official website so I came her to leave this comment. Elise C, a desk associate at ANN TAYLOR store in Lansing, MI, she gave me the best ever customer service on Feb 29, 2024. I came to the store with over 10 items ordered online for return. I jut like purchased different styles with two sizes for each in one order so I can try out which works best at home and return items that I don't want easily. Elise was really patient to me. Their computer system didn't recognize my order even though we tried to put in phone number, credit number, order number, etc. Elise looked into my order confirmation email and manually changed the price in their system based on the price listed on my confirmation email for every single item that I wanted to return to make sure I receive the correct refund. I was thinking this process may take a half hour but she was so excellent and completed the whole process in 10 minutes. She explained everything very clearly to me and showed me what exactly she did on her computer. She also mentioned the better deal in the store so I can get some money back by returning the items that I decided to keep and rebuy them with discounts. She was so patient and friendly. I really hope the company can recognize this great person and shout...
