The counter top department was not useful. After taking in pictures of some quirks in my kitchen and evidence of measurements, the template for my counter can back incorrect. Of course, this was my incorrect mistake so I remeasured with someone more knowledgeable and took my new measurements back in. With an angled edge I was told that they didn't need the measurements for that. It would "work out" in the computer CAD system. New template arrives 14 days later (should only be 5-7). During the waiting period I contacted the template company who stated they contacted my Lansing store the day AFTER my second template order for a sink number. Menard's never contacted them with the sink number....my template was waiting in e-mail limbo for TEN DAYS. My second template order took forever and was only reconciled in delay with my intervention. 2nd template arrives with incorrect angled edge - grrrrrrrrrrr...because I ASKED them if they needed it!!!! After complaining to Menard's store manager - they agreed to take the measurements and fax them over the next morning and put a RUSH on the THIRD template and pay for it. Two days later the store contacted me to finalize the counter order. WHAT???!!!! I do not want a counter yet! I need the template!!! Order the TEMPLATE and you are putting a rush on it correct? The RUSH they put on it is being delivered TEN DAYS after they put it in. Whatever. Refund my $. A LAMINATE counter top should not take OVER A MONTH to get. Not to mention it will take two weeks from when I get my template for the counter top order to arrive. Started in June - and it will end in August? Completely...
Read moreAfter today just one more reason to hate this sham of a company. I returned 1 item with receipt and was told $10 of the $63 item returned would be put on store credit even though I had more than one purchase on the receipt and other item was $30, I asked why and she said it was corporate policy, I shouldn't be FORCED to use this place of business, but that's basically what they're doing. Just like they tell you an item has a rebate, what they don't tell you is it's only IN STORE CREDIT and not a rebate check that can be deposited in your bank. So basically they keep your money and force you to return and spend it. GUARANTEED my LAST TIME using this joke of a company. The Lowe's across the street was MORE THAN WILLING to take my money AND give me a 10% veterans discount on top of it. Lastly, good luck finding employee's to help, I stood at paint counter 3 days ago needing help, the dept mgr was busy with another, but I noticed another dept employee stocking shelves 15ft away from me and he looked and me TWICE during the 5 minutes waiting without saying one word, then proceeded to walk by me, AGAIN not a word. I slammed the paint on counter and left and went to LOWE'S were once again they were MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. If you live in South Lansing, beware of Menard's and use the LOWE'S across the street, you won't regret it.
P.S. I'm willing to bet ALL the Five Star reviews without comment...
Read moreOn a windy day in early February 2017, I was as Menards. I had finished shopping and was just pulling away from my parking spot when 2 carts from the "cart corral" blew out and dented the side of my truck. The truck is a lease and is less than a year old so I can not just let it go. So I went in to the store and asked if Menards could help me with it. The assistant manager was very nice and said she would help me. She took pictures and gave me her card and said it would be taken care of through their insurance company. Greg, from the insurance company called me a couple of days later and took a report of what happened and would not commit except to say that they would make a determination and get back with me. It has been a month now and NO response. So I called several times and left VM's. Also tried going to the operator which every time gave me a line that rang for 2 minutes and then hung up on me. Finally I got a call through to Greg. My claim has been denied. They don't cover wind blowing a cart. So, now I go back to Menards' management. I feel they should be responsible for my $750 deductible if I should have to file a claim with my own insurance. Not to mention that my insurance rates will likely raise do to filing a...
