Life Hacks for Michigan State University (MSU) - Part 2

They've changed, apparently, like everyone else since the world went upside down. I mean, there's still about the same place. Steaks are still cooked to perfection! Service, it's not up to par, but that's the case everywhere, when it comes to service! nice girl was attentive, and all just don't seem to listen none of them do anymore. The chili, which was wonderfully flavored, very tasty, I actually enjoyed it, but it was lukewarm at best! Ordered the beer short got a big tall mug, order a glass of water with no ice came full of ice. The atmosphere even thats change to a degree, used to have nice wood floors you just shucked your peanuts and threw the shells on the floor restoring oil back into the wood of the floor from the peanut shell was the concept, to be swept up at the end of the night. Now you just get a little bag of peanuts the nice wood floors been covered over with some skid resistant flooring don't get me wrong overall I'd like the place for the big franchise corporate chains it's one of my more favorite ones when it comes to the big chain restaurants specifically the one on the south side I've always enjoyed, if I had to say I like big corporate chains this would be my most favorite one. I would have to say though there were three of us sitting the other night and we all had entrees and the two sides and I think everyone had a drink with alcohol or soft and still got out of there for well under $100 including 20% tip comparably speaking they seem very reasonably priced for a nice experience in a good quality meal overall

On July 15th around 7:50 PM, I visited Texas Roadhouse with a friend. I ordered a 23oz T-bone steak and even pointed to it on the menu while ordering. However, when the bill arrived, I was charged for a “23oz Bone-in Ribeye” — even though the menu only lists a 20oz Bone-in Ribeye. It seems they decided to change the receipt to “23oz Bone-in Ribeye,” possibly to match the size of the T-bone I ordered — I’m not sure. But we essentially ended up eating a bone-in ribeye without even realizing it wasn’t the T-bone we had actually asked for. Later, the server confirmed that we did, in fact, order the T-bone, not the ribeye. When the manager came over, she brushed it off by saying the “23oz Bone-in Ribeye” ($36.99) and the “23oz T-bone” ($34.99) are only a $2 difference, and offered a $5 discount — completely missing the point. You can’t just substitute someone’s order, create a custom item that doesn’t exist on the menu, and charge more without informing the customer. Like — where did the $36.99 price even come from? I felt misled and disrespected, and I sincerely hope this kind of thing doesn’t happen to other guests. What upset me wasn’t just the few extra dollars — it was the fact that a restaurant would pull this kind of deceptive trick on a customer. I’ve never experienced anything like this at any other restaurant

Terrible service! Food was ok at best. Our server started the evening off with telling us how much she could use a drink, then proceeded to lean on the table and show us the drink menu. Got the drinks, which the margarita was the best part of the meal, ordered the dinner, again with her leaning on the table. Salads came, and I asked for water and she said she would get that for me. I found a hair in my salad and She offered me a new salad and said she would send the manager over (which he did not come at that time) Finally got the water after about 20 minutes. Dinner came and my husband's steak was so tough, had a hard time cutting it and it was very chewy. After she came to ask us about the food, we told her about his steak, she offered a new steak, which my husband said no to and she said the manager would come over. Finally talked to the manager and he offered a new steak, again we said no, and he offered to comp the check some. We also expressed our frustration over the service and he apologized and said he would talk to her. She brought the bill, and apologized to us because "she didn't cook the food, I promise" and took our card and ran it. When we asked if the bill was discounted she said it was not and asked if the manager said he was going to???? Why wouldn't you check that before bringing the bill with all the problems? She then told us she would be right back, she was going to talk to the manager. We waited for the manager for about 8 min and got tired of waiting, so we left, paid full price for the meals, and to top it off, when we walked out, she was standing by the service station complaining about us to another server. She should feel lucky that I gave her a 15% tip, only because I used to be a server myself, she certainly did...

This restaurant is very poor. Spent way too much money, food was cold. We ordered an appetizer and two meals. I ordered the largest prime rib 16 OZ., Baked potato, and salad. My friend the same but with mashed potatoes and corn. We also upgraded to have shrimp with our meal. No sooner than we ordered and the waitress left the table did the Caesar salads show up. I asked about the appetizer? It was clear that appetizers' was not this person's area in the kitchen. We waited not eating our salads and the food shows up. Both plates had mashed potatoes. I ordered a baked potatoe with no sour cream -just butter. The waitress comes to ask how is the meal? I explained that we didn't get our appetizer, and they didn't bring my baked potato. She literally told us that it would take longer then the time we were willing to stay to get the appetizer. She said she messed up. Shortly thereafter my baked potato came to the table caked with sour cream. Sour cream is just one of those things you can't wipe off of a baked potato. By the way the sour cream just sat caked, two globs of it. We laughed because I never touched the thing, and the sour cream never melted into the potato. You know, like it would if it were hot. They charged us for the appetizer that never came, and the two mashed potatoes. My friend and I after watching this circus of a place decided we were not going to engage the staff/manager because everyone around us were complaining, so we just laughed it off, and even tipped very well... Consider it a gift. Will we ever visit another Texas Roadhouse? No, absolutely not đŸš« Way to much to go through just to have a nice meal with your friend. I don't know what we expected purchasing expensive meals, at...

Went here on 2/2/22 the blizzard of the year... And they were not only open, but pretty busy. Surprisingly they say us right away, and our server popped up promptly and gave us the spiel of the year... So many drink recommendations it was almost overwhelming as I literally just wanted a beer haha. She took our order and came back about 5 minutes later with no waters, no drinks... But she was ready to ask for appetizer orders. Sure, we got the combo. I see them come around a couple minutes later and they look at the table and it clicks.. I get my beer. And we place our entrees, had to ask for the waters and other drink. The potato skins were cooked well, and not soggy which was nice. Rattlesnake bites were yummy along with the awesome blossom thing, it was probably one of the/if not best blossom style fried onion I ever had. Crisp, not soaked in oil, pieces came off easy. Loved it. Cesar was standard, but croutons are yummy! Ny strip ordered medium was cooked to a perfect medium. Mushrooms were a bit salty for my liking, loaded mashed potatoes are not the way to go... Cheese was cold on Luke warm potatoes.

Randomly one guy who works there... I'm assuming a server, was leaning up against the wall watching TV right in front of us... For a long time. It was awkward, and I didn't understand why they weren't running food or doing anything productive for such a long time. When they finally moved they just parked it again like 8 feet from where they were haha. Guess they were not as busy as the rest of the place.

Overall a good experience, and if I get another gift card I would probably choose this location as the food was prepared better than other chain steakhouses...
