Cannot recommend this place.
I had a disagreement with one of the users. We both got into an argument. Both raised our voice. Both complied when staff stepped in without any sort of problem. Neither of us were overly out of line. I even saw her less than a week later at PPP. Not to mention, she admitted to starting it.
I was abused by multiple users around us. I even didn't violate any rule or do anything far out of line. Talked to the owners there. I was given a warning by Ryan. Which was fine. I agreed. And there was no problem.
Will and some female I don't know called me, and said I was banned. They stated I did not violate any rules regarding MTG or for the store. And told me that the only reason I was banned was because "it's our store and we do what we want". Which is not valid justification for abusing/mistreating customers.
Not to mention they also agreed that multiple users had actually violated the rules. And actually being out of line and abusive. Yet the others who did violate the rules including the other woman who even started the argument was not banned. So they bully somebody. Then ban the victim. This is not professional. And also a violation of civil rights as it can be considered racist since I am a minority. They had zero justification for banning me. Despite other users being more out of line. And saying "this is our store we do what we want" is not a valid justification.
They then claimed trying to build a community. Yet what community? A racist one? Or one that wishes to allow bullies to prosper and blames victims? This is the complete opposite of any sort of building a community. It is, in fact, depriving the community for having legitimate users to game with. When banning legitimate users who have done absolutely nothing wrong. As well as complying with staff.
And which they admitted I didn't do anything wrong. Just banning somebody for the sole reason of "our store we do what we want, and it doesn't matter if you didn't do anything wrong". This is the type of abusiveness towards players that is the opposite of any legitimate community.
I spoke to somebody else who lives close to this store, and still goes all the way to PPP. He said the reason was that sort of general attitude of the crowd there. Toxic. And this is the bottom line of it. They want to ban those who are not toxic. And want to create a community that caters to that sort of toxic attitude.
As far as I understood, Ryan is owner as well. So I don't know how these abusive owners can go around him. I honestly didn't care enough to find out. If a store is like this and wants to prevent kids who are legitimate and enjoy games, while building a toxic/abusive community. Then what does it matter?
This place has zero concept of customer service and how to treat people. I have been a victim of abuse from family and school. This place is absolutely no different when it comes to abusing whoever they can target. Maybe if the owners get it together or fire that abusive lady, it can change. But as it stands, this place is bad news for everybody in the card/games community.
Added note - Maybe days or about a week before this, I found out that they were keeping everything from the donation box. This means prohibiting anybody else from it. This should have sent immediate red flags. The donation box at a shop is meant as a place for users to donate so other users can take what they need, and leave what they don't. I got into MTG because of a donation box from a shop. I mentioned this to somebody else, and he was completely shocked. And said the exact same thing about how he got into cards. This alone is...
Read moreI called Prodigy a week ago to see if they had any preorders of Edge of eternities available and they said they were sold out but on launch day (today) they'd have some available in store for MSRP. My wife just went in right when they opened and they tried charging her 400/box (290 is MSRP)
Don't lie to your customers
Edit in response to their response:
Your presale reflected the actual price of this product (290.) Charging "market price" is just a way for the stores to become the scalpers to earn even more profits.
I did call afterwards before leaving my review and was told I couldn't speak to a manager. After I explained the situation to Bill he put me on hold and consulted whoever was in charge at that time. I was told you wouldn't honor the price I was quoted over the phone the week prior. I gave Bill my phone number and name so the owner/manager could contact me to discuss further and no one ever did.
Nothing about my 1-star review was misleading. You're just trying to manipulate the facts to save face when all you had to do was honor your word and sell me what you promised. Instead you decided to squeeze out another hundred bucks out of a product you were already making a profit off of.
Be very careful when getting quotes from this company. Make sure you get the person's name and try to record the...
Read moreI came to the shop once to sell my Yugioh cards. Because they were super busy, I wasn't able to be helped and it ended on a bad note. However, they informed me that they do not take cards that are under $2. So I used TCGplayer the night before to check pricing and make sure that the cards were at least $2. When I went back into the shop, it was completely empty, due to the fact that it had just opened. The staff member I met with was friendly and helped me right away. After taking my stack of cards to the back, they returned to tell me that they could only offer me a little over $200, which I was appalled by. The attending staff informed me that they use TCGplayer to check pricing, which bewildered me because it's the same application that I used, the night before. I mentioned this to the staff member and I was then informed that they base pricing off of a specific value. I felt cheated and defeated because the stack of cards that I brought in were well over $500 in market value. Even if they used the lowest price possible, I should've gone away with $300 almost $400 that day. But instead, I walked away with less than half of what I was expecting. Not sure if I would want to use their services again, I only took the money due to financial issues. But if I had a choice, I would definitely go...
