Our deck needed to be replaced, We decided we would go with a Trex deck. We had three contractors give us an estimate, although they were all close in price, we ultimately decided on Michigan Exterior Pros. My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with our choice. Derek, one of the owners was professional, knowledgeable, a pleasure to deal with and extremely likeable. He took photos, measurements, made great suggestions and brought us back physical samples, a schematic of the plan and a breakdown of all the costs. From start to finish, he was completely upfront and honest. Derek and his crew, Robb, Andrew and Patrick were exceptional, But I would be remiss, by not giving a special shout out to Robb, He was phenomenal, first one at the job every morning and usually the last to leave. Everything I asked Robb to do, (a lot of little extras) he did. Every night, before he left, he made sure the job site was clean and safe, his work is meticulous, professional, in a word, superb! It was obvious that he takes great pride and satisfaction in his work and went above and beyond, in making his clients happy. My wife and I were so impressed with the work they did, we decided to have them replace our walk out doors with Anderson sliding glass doors and once again, we were completely satisfied with the work. There were no "hidden costs" or surprises. Although, there was some extra work that had to be done, due to the age of the old decks framing, which could only be discovered after the initial tear off, Derek did his best to keep the extra cost to a minimum. The co-owner, Dakota, also came out to the job to follow up on the progress, he was a very nice gentleman, a busy man and we appreciated him checking up on things. We had (4) companies come out to discuss our main project and while being cognizant of our budget we hemmed and hawed whether to bring up the second small project that was needed as well. It turned out only 2/4 of the companies were even understanding what we were asking for; then only one was earnest in their attempt to see the idea through, communicate the appropriate time, energy and monies required. We had a quote for our initial project before Dereck even left explaining every single pricing point and why and leaving all of those decisions to us. After meeting with the others, we contacted Dereck again to ask about a quote for that second smaller project. Once again, he didn’t waste time to get that rolling and we had a straightforward quote and answer back very quickly. The kindness, promptness and professionalism were the determining factors for us. We experienced zero condescending behavior across the company, (which is common with the older generations currently running businesses) and we were never made to feel they were too busy for our bigger and smaller project. It’s a difficult decision choosing someone to trust these days, but we are very grateful that we felt led to go with them. I could not be happier with Dereck and his crew at Michigan Exterior Pros. From our initial meeting with Dereck to discuss our roofing project it was clear that he was an honest individual who truly cares about the quality and workmanship of the product that he provides. He was totally transparent with respect to his pricing calculations and was more than happy to spend as much time as we needed to answer any questions we had. Communication was excellent throughout the entire project. Our roof was completed in one (very long !) day by folks who are very hard-working and were respectful our property. The next day after our roof was completed, Dereck returned to do a final inspection of the roof, to (again) sweep the property again for any debris or nails left behind and ensure that we were happy with the work and we had no concerns.
