Tilted Axis Brewing Company — Restaurant in Lapeer

I was in here yesterday with my family and boyfriend and it was fantastic! My family and I travel all over Michigan and visit all the breweries and have had our share of great experiences along with bad ones and I can say Tilted Axis was one of our favorites! We all had very different varieties of drinks including their beer, mead, cider and mixed drinks and we all shared them with each other and all of us liked our drinks AND the drinks everyone else got! We do have different tastes in the beers we like but it was great being able to share everything and enjoying what we had, like their Cherry Wheat, Fruit Cocktail Cider, IPA, Orange Blossom Mead and their Sangria Cider (seriously, the Sangria Cider is where it's at)! Not only was everything delicious, we sat upstairs where no one else was sitting (which was great for us) and our waiter and the rest of their staff was great! They never kept us waiting to order and delivered our drinks & food quickly, not to mention, the waiter we had was great for having to run up and down the stairs so many times just to serve us (thank you to him, I hope you read this, we really appreciated it)! This place in downtown is wonderful. They've spent a enormous amount of time and money on the building before opening, with keeping as much of the original character as possible. ( they have a photo binder showing the construction process), and a large upstairs lounge area is always open, and has games, tv's, and couches(among other seating) for good conversation and brews. The current menu is pizza, and other bar favorites, and although i was fond of the old menu (once had a lamb stew there that was amazing) their new menu is great as well, as my family and i get pizza usually once a week from here( absolutely excellent pizza). As for the drinks, top notch. No, they dont have bud light, or any other generic brew. What they do have is beer, mead , and cider, all house crafted, and terrific! 100000% recommended!!! Words cant describe how awesome this place and the people there are! Being a first timer attending this place to host a young adult event upstairs, went so smoothly and was so accommodating! Our server, Cody is amazing! Very helpful, prompt, fast, and friendly service and offered to help carrying the speaker up/downstairs and asked if we needed the music turned off for our speaker giving her presentation which was a big and help for us to properly hear her. The food and drinks were ready super fast and were soooo good , I'm now obsessed with their calzones!! At the end of the night, they asked if anyone wanted to order anything else before the kitchen closed and I jumped on that opportunity to order a calzone to go!
