This Grocery Store made me feel so uncomfortable while Shopping ,So I live Downtown Summerland off Red Rock Ranch Road, and I went to visit my family Downtown for a small BBQ ,So we decided to go to this Specific store my cousin recommended. At first I was a little skeptical about the store have never heard of it before,Mind u I Have my Master Degree, and I Don't Steal, Us Black people we already get stereotype when entering a store don't matter how much money we make .as It is already Shameful, But for this store to have there employees following u around the store that will make anyone uncomfortable and pissed off . I understand it's a Mexican only market. But this needs to stop the employees make minimum wage and still going the extra length to impress whom????, IDK ,I make $36hr. And I only shop @ (Trader Joe's) and (Albertsons.) Bcuz they actually say thank you when leaving the store, and they definitely don't make customers feel uncomfortable shopping and also Not have an employee stand at the exit and not say anything same goes for the cashier, worst customer experience ever . But Great Deals on Meat Only ,The moral of this is that Not Every Black Person Steals and Same goes for Hispanic & Whites...this Short little Hispanic Man literally stood and the front door/Exit like a Security would and monitored every item I placed in Bag . Then wen I payed for each of my items then he walked off . Redicilious. Rite . I felt so uncomfortable and Targeted I actually asked an employee if she can finish scan my Items for me . Elderly woman .very sweet Just to keep the tension Down . Bcuz that little short Hispanic guy He needs to stop.. he doing...
Read moreWill never go back due to the security. Lewis (works security) told me to leave my backpack at the front which I could understand (don't like it but considering theft posing such a problem nowadays it's understanding ). However, after putting my bag at the front he then tells me that I'm going to have to leave my purse at the front to. I think he's super out of line considering I was watching multiple other women with purses my size or larger walking around the store with theirs and he didn't even bat an eyelash at any of them. Its crazy to expect someone to leave all valuables at the front of the store unattended. I wouldn't have a problem if they could assure me that my belongings wouldn't go missing but they can't. I made the mistake of trusting them to watch my things one day and once I was ready to go and went to retrieve my stuff, everything was gone! They told me they couldn't do anything to help resolve that unfortunate event either. They wouldn't even give me an apology. I don't understand why people are so rude and judgemental in this day in age. They truly are to ignorant to know that they're way closer to going through it themselves than they know and there's no excuse for treating people poorly especially when they're out of line in the first place. Respect don't cost a thing. He really needs to work at it if he's going to be working with the public. However, I think that if I had been Hispanic there wouldn't have even been an issue...
Read moreI visit this location a few times a year, sometimes more often if I need certain things. Cardenas always has great prices on meat and produce, plus it is always fresh! On my recent trip I found they did some remodeling in the produce section. While my kids were always amused to see the fake trees with oranges and apples, it made for poor lighting and a crowded feeling. They have since removed it all and I was amazed at how bright the produce section is now, and how much room it opened up. They have their own tortillas made on site as well as hot food options that you can eat while shopping. I drive 20 minutes out of the way to come here when I have other options that are 10minutes or less. That is how much more I prefer Cardenas to the other Mexican...
