Edited my review from 5 star to 3 star: I took my mother here this afternoon because she loves the senior discount. We shopped and eventually got in line where my mother informed the cashier that she was a senior citizenĀ for her discount. After being rung up, IĀ reached into my purse to retrieveĀ my mother's credit card for our purchases, this was a seemingly big issue for the cashier. She asked if the credit card was in my name, or my mothers, and proceeded to tell me she could not provide a discount to us if I was the one purchasing because I am not old enough for a discount (even though my clearly senior citizsen mother was standing directly next to me). I informed her it was in fact my mother's credit card, had my mother's name on it, and that I simply always hold her belongings.Ā She must not have believed that it was my motherās, because she then asked again if the credit card was in mine or my motherās name and explained again that it had to be my mothers credit card if we were to receive the senior discount. I really found this to be odd and inappropriate. I am nearing my forties, even if I wanted to foot the discounted bill for my mother, I should be allowed to if sheās standing directly next to me. I always hold my motherās things due to her age and declining physical health and have never been questioned in any kind of way about whether the payment is coming from her bank account or mine. What does that matter if she is in my presence, directly next to me, and the proceeds benefit charity? I am bewildered at the logic. And by this same logic, are senior citizens receiving a discount not allowed to purchase gifts for others and only for themselves? Everyone else has always been extremely kind and lovely here and I still recommend this business, especially as it is for charity.
I love this resale, thereās lots of hidden gems as far as clothing, shoes, and home decor. Itās clean and organized well. Thereās always new items if you visit monthly. They have different sales on different days of the week, like a senior discount on Mondays although they exclude many items from the various sales (usually designer items or home goods..wish home stuff went on sale more often). The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend giving this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have never been so upset in my life. Today, I took my mom to Encore as I do every month. I would have never thought that would have treated her the way that they did today. My mom is still shaking. Here is the problem in a nutshell. My mother purchased a cabinet and dresser for $125 on 7/5. She fell ill and and was unable to arrange delivery arrangements with in the 3 day grace period that the store allows. So we knew the items would be put back on the sales floor. What we didnt know, is that they would not issue a store credit to her (she didnt want a refund). So that means that they resold the items at full price , and took her $125. So in essence they got double the amount that they originally asked for. Not to mention that she was trying to purchase clothing items and housewares that she usually gives to those in need who cant afford things even at thrift store prices. She has her receipt, which is the proof of purchase, and it doesnt mention this poor business practice. Scott the General Manager, did not care that my mom has been shopping there since the opening of the store or that she spends hundreds of dollars there every month, or that fact, which is most important to me, that she is a 70 year old lady that goes to this store as her only outlet nor was she asking for something for nothing. I will be finding a new resale shop for her to go to, and I will be taking legal action. As an owner of a retail store myself, I just wanted warn everyone about this place of business and let the people of this commuinty that we are not all the same, and that customer satisfaction is the foundation of...

Today July 2, 2020 had the WORST experience. Thought I was lucky to see and grab in my hands a branded bag (around $100-150 in the outlet store and priced less if clearance ) , and one of their staff told me that she'll just see the bag and NEVER gave it back to me!!! She should have given me the bag back cuz it was already priced! HOW RUDE. Thinking that this is a Christian thrift store and that attitude is NOT and never will be christian! I have been to a lot of thrift stores and able to score even a CHANEL item and this never happened!!!! If its priced it's good to sell!!! In fairness love the one on charge in the shoes and bags area, she's one of the kindest. That RUDE staff was just even passing by!
It's just so sad that ONE staff can bring the standard and ethical value of the store DOWN.
I'm sorry I'm just venting out cuz this is the first time this happened to me in US and its depressing. People regardless of color and economic standing should be treated with RESPECT and equally.
Pls train staff to mind their own businesses and never get things from...
