This is literally the worst place on earth you could ever give your business to. Where do I even begin to explain everything that went wrong...first off, I called to book an appointment and told the receptionist that I was a first time customer and wanted to use the coupon for $10 off which they advertise on their website (only valid MON-THURS)... knowing this, the receptionist still scheduled me on a SATURDAY, however it was apparently my fault for not paying attention. In addition, I went on to my pet portal to check on my cat's documents when I see an outstanding charge of OVER $100.... so I called and apparently they salon changed the prices and "forgot" to update their website so not only did I not get to use my coupon, I had to fight for the correct price which is advertised on their website to be the price I pay. Anyways I had an appointment at 9:30am to drop my cat off and upon getting there, someone was already inside. I understand that the COVID guidelines are to keep people to a minimum and to disinfect after every customer however, if it takes time to speak with a customer about their grooming services AND to clean the facility between customers why are they still scheduling people at the same time to drop off they pets? I waited outside about 10-15 mins before I could even go inside. Once I got inside and explained the grooming I wanted for my cat, I went on about my day. I ge a call from the cat groomer that the haircut I wanted would look "choppy because cat hair doesn't cut the same as dog hair." I have literally never heard anyone tell me this in my whole life. I believe the groomer's name was Sharon and she sounded like she knew what she was doing and I ended up saying ok to the "choppy" cut since I didn't want to shave my cat all the way down. I ended up calling the groomer back because in the meantime I decided that I did not want my cat to look like a 4 year old attempted to cut my cat's hair with a scissor in which I told her to shave him down to avoid that. Sharon started getting offended when I kept asking her questions about the haircut such as if she could blend his leg hair into his body so that there won't be any harsh lines in his haircut. I guess after she had enough of me "bugging" her about the grooming, she told me she's stopping all services AFTER she already ran the clipper through my cat's side. I told her please proceed with the haircut to which she said "you need to come pick up your cat now" while I was already about to walk into work.... after asking her while she's stopping the haircut, she said rudely that "there was no way to please me." Anyways, she proceeded to tell me that a manager would call me so I waited on the manager's call in hopes to resolve the issue. The manager, Barbara, calls my phone and asks me to explain the situation. I told her I had paid for the grooming services already online to which she said "no you didn't...." like as a manager do you not know what's going on in your own store? You're SUPPOSE to pay online to avoid contact with employees so for her to deny that I paid for the haircut really set me off. She said it with such confidence too. After telling Barbara my situation, she says "ok it looks like we're not going to have any positive impact with you so come get your cat right now and I'll refund you your money" with an attitude and very rudely then hung up on me. Finally I looked up how to cut cat hair on YouTube and the tutorials specifically say to brush the cat hair out and get out it's undercoat so that when you run the clipper though, IT WONT LOOK CHOPPY. IF THE CAT GROOMER DIDN'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO CUT CAT HAIR SHE LITERALLY COULD HAVE JUST SAID SO! Save your coins and don't come here. The reviews are fake and only good because they give you a discount on services if you leave a good review. Before Barbara decides to reply to this, because I see that she does, I don't care I don't want to hear it and I reported this...
Read moreI feel I must update my last review. Although I can highly recommend Maggie, as well as the rest of the staff, (with the exception of the owner), as Maggie does a most wonderful job grooming, and is very sweet to my little elderly Maltese. I have now had two most unfortunate experiences with the owner. The first experience I believe may be still posted. My last experience was nothing less than horrific, for both myself and for my Maltese. My little Maltese is getting up in years, and has become nearly blind, and almost completely deaf. She suffers from painful joints, and from a collapsing trachea. These ailments have come on rather suddenly, all within a year, and has caused her much anxiety to unfamiliar places, and especially separation anxiety when I am not right with her. Because she cannot hear herself very well, she will wail at the top of her lungs when she is extremely stressed, when I am not with her. Something she hasn't done her entire life, until her loss of sight and hearing. When I went to pick her up, she wasn't out front with the other dogs, but in the back room in a cage alone, with the back door closed. The owner greeted me to check me out. As I was looking for my little one, I began to hear her wailing. That's when I knew she was in the back room. I asked if I could get her as we went thru the process of checking out. She replied it wasn't mine that was wailing. I told her I quite know my own dogs voice. She then said, I promise it's not her, and proceeded to ignore my request, as she went about the checking out process, and having troubles with the computer. I told her that she has quite severe separation anxiety now, and I do need to get her. All the while listening to her wailing in the back room. The owner then told me, I think it is you who has separation anxiety. She finally completed my bill, after what was an agonizing amount of time, while listening to my baby wailing in desperation in the back room. The owner brought her out, still wailing, and said to me; oh, now she starts crying. As I took her out, she continued to wail for quite a little while after we left, being so distraught, as I held her close and tried to calm her. I have never seen her so upset before or since. They do give beautiful groomings there, but I would not recommend taking your dog if it is elderly or has special needs, or frankly, if you care about your dog. I am sure not all are treated the way mine was, but one should be able to have their dog upon walking in, if it is in distress. I would also like to mention, be wary of the positive reviews. The staff at Swanky Paws actively offer a discount if you give them a favorable review. And as many other reviewers have reported, I was also charged much more than was quoted when I...
