Let me start off by saying that the store and the product is great! No ifs and buts about it. Great quality and competitive prices. Wife and i were spending a weekend in the area and stopped by for a coffee. We ended up leaving with a sofa, table and chairs. AgainâŚ. Great product⌠however the way they handled what happened next - earns them ONLY 2 STARS!
We paid for delivery. Waited 5 weeks - no issue there - they told us upfront. Communication was great. Delivery finally happens (and the team is something else, but thatâs a whole different topic) and the table is damaged⌠again⌠happens. In fact - i didnt even have to mention it - delivery team were the ones who noticed it first. Again, happens. They call owner Carl - this is where things go south⌠Carl offers to replace - no problem. When i asked how long will i have to wait - i am told âmaybe another 4-5 weeks, whenever we are in your area againâ. I find that unacceptable as i already waited 5 weeks. So Carl reluctantly offers refund - i accept and ask when should i expect it⌠âwellâŚ. I have to inspect the item firstâ. What do you mean? Itâs damaged⌠you just offered me full refund and now you have to inspect it first?!!! We go in circles for 5 min until he finally says he will refund. Again, i ask when - i am told âwell, itâs friday now and late so mondayâ again - that surprised me as - why cant credit card be refunded on fri or a saturday? Or even sunday? But fine⌠i patiently wait for monday. Noone calls me. Finally i call myself⌠after they call Carl refund is finally processed and i even get an email confirmation from them. Should be over right? Wrong! Refund was 2 separate transactions - one for the cost of shipping (150$) one for the table (1100$). Shipping refund appears on my account 2 days later⌠i wait⌠still no 1100. Finally i call. I am told âwe refundedâ. When i say - i got only one out of the two⌠i am told âit takes 3-5 business daysâ. Ok⌠i will wait although makes no sense why 1 transaction would appear days before the other⌠few more days - no refund. I call again. Again i get same âitâs been processedâŚ.waitââŚ. Few more days go by. I call credit card - they have no record of refund. I call the store - now i am told âit takes 7-10 business daysâ. I wait few more days. Finally when i call again i am told âoh yeah, there is a glitch⌠we are investigatingâ manager Kim calls me back. Finally confirms refund never took place and refunds my money⌠again - things happen and i get it, but the way they handled the entire affair leaves a poor taste in my mouth. When i gave the whole story to Kim the manager - she said âwe stand by the ownerâs decisionâ clearly angry with my complaint. I get it he pays their salary, but what kind of a customer service is this? Not even attempting to right the wrong. First by not offering timely replacement of a damaged item, then by not offering timely refund, and then just blowing me off for 10 days when i kept calling with concernsâŚand to top it off - to get clearly inpatient with me when i voiced all my concerns. I look for quality of materials and attention to detail in my furniture, and not merely aesthetics. My wife and I ordered a custom 2.5" thick kitchen table in chestnut. I expected excellent craftsmanship, and when we picked up our table, the table top was both beautiful in appearance, and was perfectly designed and produced with attention to detail. My expectations were met, and exceeded with the provisioning of a table top care kit. Our table is a showpiece in our remodeled kitchen. And most impressive of all, when we found a minor issue that required remedy to the mounting of the base with the table top, I made a call to Mika at The Treasure Place showroom. Mika immediately and without hesitation offered to come to our home and take care of it. A 150 mile round trip for him. Completed two days after my call. He took care of the matter in a half hour, carefully and professionally. With a smile and an "I take care of my customers" commentary. This was so impressive, and we felt so appreciative for his customer service. Where do you possibly find such exemplary customer service in our times? Not many places, in my view.
