Kitchen Kettle Village is an absolute treasure in Lancaster County!
If you love charming small towns, unique shopping, and amazing local goodies, this place has to be on your list. We spent several hours wandering through Kitchen Kettle Village, and honestly, we could have stayed even longer — there’s just so much to see and do, all conveniently located in one spot.
First, let’s talk about the crafts and handmade goods. From beautiful quilts and intricate wood carvings to pottery and handwoven baskets, the craftsmanship here is top-notch. You can actually watch some artisans at work, which makes the whole experience even more special.
The Jam & Relish Kitchen is a must-visit. We sampled so many jams, relishes, salsas, and butters that we lost count. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, and it’s impossible to leave without at least a few jars to take home.
Deerskin Leather Shop has gorgeous handbags, belts, and accessories, all at reasonable prices for the quality. If you’re looking for unique gifts or a little treat for yourself, this is the spot.
Pepper Lane Fudge & Sweets was another highlight. So many flavors of fudge, plus other candies and chocolates — perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
The Olive Basin was a surprise gem, with rows of flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars you can taste before buying. The staff here were super knowledgeable and helped us find some fantastic pairings.
Village Handmade and Village Soap Company both caught my eye with beautiful soaps, candles, and home décor — all handmade and surprisingly affordable. Perfect places to pick up a souvenir or gifts that feel special and unique.
Beyond shopping, there’s live music, beautiful flowers and landscaping, and a real sense of community and charm throughout the village. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has that cozy, small-town vibe that makes Lancaster County so special.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality and craftsmanship you’re getting, and it’s wonderful having so many different shops all located in one easy-to-walk village. You can shop, snack, and stroll to your heart’s content without ever needing to get back in your car.

Read moreKitchen Kettle Village in the centre of Intercourse PA, is a charming haven of local delights. The village, adorned with Christmas decorations reminiscent of a Hallmark movie, offers a delightful mix of homemade foods, unique gifts, and artisanal crafts.
The village hosts local cooks, quilters, and all manner of shopkeepers; all showcasing their talents and wares. The homemade foods, especially the jams and jellies, provide a tasty glimpse into Lancaster's flavors. The village is dotted with shops offering locally made items and distinctive gifts, contributing to its vibrant atmosphere.
The Christmas decorations add a magical touch, making it an ideal spot for a festive stroll. The bakery, with its irresistible aroma of freshly baked goods, was a sweet treat for visitors and provided us with a true Baker’s Dozen of homemade cookies for the ride home. As you explore the shops, going in and out, and in and out of all of the shops, you can't help but appreciate the clever wordplay scattered throughout Intercourse. The whole experience is a delightful blend of small-town charm and good-natured innuendo.
While the village may feel a bit touristy for those seeking an authentic Amish experience, it remains a delightful destination for those who appreciate small-town charm and artisanal craftsmanship. Prices of handmade items may be on the higher side, but the overall experience makes it worth a visit, especially during the...
Read moreA very fun place to visit while in Lancaster County. There are 40 shops to explore and it is great for spending an afternoon at. Yes it is a bit touristy and always busy, but the unique shops make the entire experience well worth a stop. I've been visiting for over 20 years and it has stayed virtually the same. The shops have everything from gourmet foods, Amish canned goods, great apparel and gift stores as well as a great pet shop. Prices are fair and you can buy a bit of everything to bring home. The jam and relish kitchen shop is my personal favorite! You can stop in and sample all of there offerings and oh boy are there a lot. Everything from pickles, jams, jellies, honey, peanut butter, salsas, sauces as well as various desserts. My absolute favorite store to stock up on goodies at. I also love the pet store Paw Prints-they have gifts for pet lovers and various items for dogs (and kitty cats too!) On weekends they have various special events like Rhubarb fest and a special Christmas event. They usually have either choirs or bands performing which are lovely to enjoy. Shout out to the band Dillweed who were playing on 4/15/23-wonderfuo bluegrass style music that I sat and enjoyed for an hour between shopping. There is a great goat barn where you can feed and pet the goats! I highly recommend visiting while in the area. You can get a taste of everything that Lancaster county has to offer...
