Very deceptive marketing tactics used for the mystery boxes. It’s really disappointing to have experienced this, as $6 is a good deal for things in the bins. But to have $50 boxes, that are most legitimately underfilled, and misleading, they said to me word for word “most high quality mystery boxes” and they say “but we don’t know what’s in them”, they do know. They make them in store. They’re taking advantage of people’s trust here. They also had mentioned “Apple Watch or Michael Kors bag in EACH pallet” wording that if you don’t pay close attention to, you get screwed.
And you get stuck blaming yourself for trusting this business.
This business wasn’t transparent, it’s $50 a box, you’d assume that you at least get the value of that box. But no, the box we received was partly empty, and had cheap $1 items in it. The total value is probably $25.
And this marketing is purposefully built to take advantage of buyers trust.
This place had been extremely good and trustworthy before this, they had an iPad for $6, and a MacBook Air, for $6.
But this was a very purposely scummy sells tactic.
I really liked going here. It was good, but if a business is willing to go so low, and take advantage of their customers. I don’t think that’s a business I want to go to.
They rigged the game for them to get all the money, and for you to be stuck with a crappy box, and blame yourself for their deceitful tactics, underfilled boxes and overall failure to provide the service.
I can understand the idea of a mystery box is a mystery, but we all know that good businesses don’t use this cool concept to scam their customers out of $50 and give them crap not even worth $20.
I thought this business valued balance, their marketing term is literally “we buy big so you don’t have to” and “Quit paying retail, that's rookie stuff. At MeMa's Bins, we buy big so you don't have to-so dig in, snag the deals, and strut out like a bargain boss."
They sold us on this in a very deceptive way, mystery or not. This was shitty. Blaming a customer who had the misfortune of trusting a business is just overall displeasing.
Also their is a sticker on the inside of the box explaining “ each box has been Document” they already preemptively expected this, bad reviews for the shitty sells tactic, and people complaining. I 100% don’t even trust their documenting skills, if they’re willing to sell $50 boxes with the trash they put in it. I doubt they’d be fair with any type of dispute strategy.
DONT BUY THE MYSTERY BOXES!
