Menards — Local services in Lebanon

On May 19th, sometime between 930a - 10a, I was at Lebanon Menards in the flooring area. I was looking to purchase some glue down vinyl plank. I had asked the staff working the area at the time, if he could show me where the vinyl plank is that can be glued down. He didn't seem to be aware that there was vinyl planks that were made to be glued down, but said that he would assist me as soon as he was finished doing what he was in the middle of. About 5 mins later another customer approached the same staff asking for assistance and I hear him tell the gentleman that he would be able to help after he finished what he was doing and after he assisted me, as I was there first. When the staff finished what he was doing he was in my line of site and the other customer. The staff began to help the other customer, totally disregarding that I was there first. I just stood looking at him, quite irritated by what had happened, but didn't say anything. After he finished with the other customer, I waited, looking at him (standing not far from him, in his line of site). He was during something at the terminal in the flooring area. Once finished, he just walked away, and did not approach me to ask if I still needed help. I saw him walk in my line if sight several time after that while I was just standing in the isle looking like someone that need help, and yet he still ignored me. I then called my contractor who was going to be installing the flooring and told him some of what happened and he just said, don't worry I'll be there soon and will help you find the flooring. Although, I am not one to automatically claim something as discrimination, but this is a time I felt I msy have been discriminated against. I am a black female, wearing my natural curly afro, and the other customer was an older white gentleman. The staff was a white man as well. I do hope that discrimination was not the case, and that maybe the staff just has poor customer service and needs some additional training. I recently had a fantastic experience at Menards Hardware store that I couldn't wait to share. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the store's impeccable cleanliness. It's refreshing to shop in an environment where everything is neatly organized and well-maintained.

The staff at Menards truly went above and beyond to make my visit enjoyable. Their helpfulness and willingness to assist were outstanding. Whenever I had a question or needed guidance, they were readily available and eager to help. Their friendly and knowledgeable demeanor made my shopping experience all the more pleasant.

While I had a fantastic overall experience, I do want to note that navigating the lumberyard was a bit challenging. Locating purchased lumber took more time than I expected, and the layout could benefit from some improvement. However, this minor inconvenience was overshadowed by the store's overall excellence.

Exceptional customer care and concern!! One of the hardest things to do is find what you're looking for. I rarely go to this store in Lebanon because I live in another town which has two Menards. So naturally the items at this store are not in the same locations as the ones where I normally shop. So rather than run around the store all day looking for things, I ask for help and man was I given the friendliest help I ever have had at a Home Improvement store. Not only that but everywhere Menards employees smiled and approached asking if I needed help finding anything! Whether it was the young men who take care of the carts outside or the employees inside the store it was the same across the board. They really know how to make a customer feel appreciated.
