NEVER have I ever heard a restaurant throwing a group of 40-60 year Olds OUT, but this takes top place !! Everyone knows in town coffee shops have all closed, as well as they all know there is a group of men who drink coffee or drink coffee w/ eating. Now don't get me wrong the policy is 2 hours and u may look in a gasp of whoo stays that long. Well these guys on occasion do. This is how it goes..Starts with 1 person then another comes in and 1st one stay then it repeats. SO depending on day its 3 to 10 people. Now keep in mind it's not EVERY TIME !!! Plus most are early drinkers so can start from 7am all out before 10 am. They may take a 4 top table they may take 2- 4 top tables. They keep to themselves, THEY are not a bother!!!! Out side of running to fill coffee cups which can easily be fixed by purchesing those pots Ihop has, and if they are worried they can't turn tables for a tip it's not the case .. Which at the time these guys r there THEY ARE BY FAR BUSY !!! NO ONE IS LOOSING MONEY !!! I have a idea EXTEND your HOURS if it's about making more money !!! This place is fully aware they are ALL that's left !! I know these people and you can charge them for Xtra coffee as some may not seem to have the money most of them do. Also another IDEA if they don't want to purchase another cup then it's some what understandable that they leave !!!! These owners clearly have to much money and would rather have empty tables !!! Coffee is the most profitable item in any industry. With that being BEWARE if you choose to take your business here. Simply because how many times do we meet family and all try to catch up and before you know it's been 2 hours, how many times have people meet for business and get wrapped up with what your doing and 2 hours have passed!!! A LOT of people have had this issue. NOW!!!! YOU'LL BE TOLD YOU HAVE TO LEAVE !!!! but I have called and most sit down places will allow you to stay as long as you need within reason. 3 or 5 hours is obviously bit exsensive, and I completely agree. So when wanting to get together with family, friends, or business just go to CRACKLE BARREL, OR JUST DO A LUNCH RESTAURANT!!!Reason of this being posted is because this is how you get treated over supposedly NOT TIPPING ENOUGH!!! This came from the Young man who was serving them !! I am for tipping and tipping for service but how much should you give for coffee and that young man didn't miss other tables that come in ?? Plus there is up to 8 of them...
Read moreGreat food. Fast service. Side of systemic racism. This is a great place for food. Their pancakes are delicious, and I’m partial to their corned beef hash. However, there is a very serious problem with this place, and they probably don’t even know it- they’re perpetuating systemic racism. On my second visit there I really started looking around, and I saw a mostly white clientele, which is not unusual for Lebanon, and a completely white waitstaff (also not unusual for Lebanon). But then I started looking closely. There were two black folks besides myself in the restaurant. To that I shrugged- there aren’t that many black people in Lebanon, so it stands to reason that there wouldn’t be that many black people at a restaurant on a Sunday morning. The waitstaff was all female and all white, and had been the last time I was there too. Again though, nothing systemically racist there- until you looked back behind the counter and into the kitchen. Every single person in the kitchen (that I could see) was Hispanic. It looked as if both the dishwashers (both older women) were Hispanic as well. Now, this is probably not a conscious decision on the part of this particularly restaurant, but it does fit almost perfectly with the systemic racism that runs rampant in our society. It angers me to see people of color give. The more menial tasks, while the faces of the restaurant (the waitresses and host staff) are whitewashed. It is sad to see that the only place (in my opinion) that serves good breakfast in Lebanon has such clear issues and has done nothing to address them. I know that they are not the only ones, but this does not make it right. Matter of fact, it makes it even more wrong. Flap Jacks, don’t fit the stereotype. Not when you are in a town that is growing in diversity and culture. Dare to be different and courageous. Dare to end the systemic racism that is so prevalent in this town....
Read moreTraveling from Ohio back to home in Illinois. Hadn't eaten since leaving Ohio. Was feeling a bit hungry so pulled in and not knowing their hours were closing at 2:30 we were walking in when they were getting ready to shut down. Everyone was very pleasant! Cook agreed to stay and cook our food, Sherry waited on us and she was extremely polite and professional. Our food was top notch and we were allowed to eat at our own pace as they continued to do their closing. I want to say this was the first time eating here and I highly recommend it if you haven't. Food was perfect, reasonably priced and served fast and hot! We were even offered an ice tea to go which was great since we had exhausted the drinks we had in the car. Everything was very clean and they all took great pride in their jobs. I will definitely be going back on my next passing through. Thanks again Sherry and all the wonderful staff that stayed over to take care of us! Greatly appreciated ❣️ Unfortunately I forgot to photograph our food but I had a western omelet, toast and grits. It was...
