My wife and I love going to Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Recently, I made a terrible mistake by taking my wife with me to go car shopping. Men, let me tell you, do not do this! It will cost you!
Oh sure, it is okay for the wife to drag you to the mall where you are forced to watch her shop for completely unnecessary items like clothing. Even though watching her shop at Victorias Secret may be fantastic, generally speaking the mall is a horrible place for men, except the food court. But, I digress.
Getting back to my review of Foxwoods Casino, so I made the terrible mistake of taking my wife car shopping. We spent hours at the most wonderful car dealership on Earth, Crabtree Toyota, in Watertown, Connecticut. Shopping there for me, and all men, is the greatest shopping experience ever due to my patient salesman Bobby.
Bobby is the greatest salesman ever. I cannot calculate how much money I cost him that day by asking so many questions about buying my new Toyota and taking so much of his valuable time.
I completely monopolized his time, preventing him from talking with other new, fake customers who had no intention of buying anything but were just looking.
Hey, you fake customers out there. I know who you are. One of you test drove the car that I bought, and inputted your name in my entertainment center. It took Bobby two days to clear out your stupid name, Paula Freias. I hate you.
Anyway, getting back to my review of Foxwoods Casino. So, for me, shopping for hours at Crabtree Toyota in Watertown, Connecticut, was so pleasurable it seemed like minutes.
On the other hand, my wife had nothing to do. She sat there in silence for hours. As you may have guessed by now, my wife is not a car enthusiast. And after a few hours, I saw that most dangerous, threatening look on her face. She was bored out of her mind and angry.
I had to act fast. I immediately closed the deal, buying a car I didn’t want. I handed Bobby $66,000 in cash.
I had to DO something dramatic or else my wife was going to divorce me right then and there in the car dealership.
So, I said to the wife “Wife, I am sorry I took so much time shopping here at Crabtree Toyota in Watertown, Connecticut. I know you are bored and angry. Please let me make it up to you. Let me take you to FOXWOODS CASINO!”
And then, as if by magic, her whole face brightened up. She smiled from ear to ear. You see, I know a great secret about her and most women. There is only one thing women like more than the mall, it is . . . Slot Machines! And Foxwoods has lots of slot machines. She was so happy, she was beaming! (“Beaming” means smiling radiantly. If you don’t know what “radiantly” means, you are too stupid to live.)
So we hopped in my brand new $66,000 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid PLATINUM and drove to the conveniently located Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. On the way, I called Foxwoods to reserve a hotel room. Usually, they give me a room for free because my wife spends so much money on slot machines. Unfortunately, Foxwoods could not accommodate me because they said they were sold out due to a huge convention of Barbers and Hairdressers. Naturally, my wife and I were terribly disappointed about that. But, what can you do?
I immediately did the next best thing. I booked the last room available anywhere in the area for that Saturday night at the Hilton Hotel directly across the road from Foxwoods.
What you need to know is this last room with a King Size bed was expensive, $490 for one night. But, my wife and I need a King Size bed because I am a tall, strong man, and she is Rubenesque (meaning she is voluptuous. If you don’t know what”voluptuous” means, to hell with you.).
However, I am a Hilton Honors Member. This entitles me to receive a substantial discount off of the hotel room rate, and a coupon for a 20% discount on the free, complimentary breakfast served in the hotel.
And then, we arrived at Foxwoods Casino!
I have more to tell you about my review of Foxwoods but Google Won’t Let Me because I exceeded my character...
Read moreHumanism is completely lost here. Greed runs Foxwoods. My sister and I decided to surprise our 88-year-old mom with an overnight stay at Foxwoods resort on Feb 7th, traveling from New Hampshire to do so. We arrived very early in the day and spent the whole day and night gambling and spending money at the various stores and restaurants throughout the resort.
As we started to get our day going for more gambling and spending the day at the resort on the 8th, our mom had a medical situation that required us to call 911 from our hotel room. The on-campus EMT personnel and head of security were first to arrive. The EMT staff and security supervisor were amazing and very caring. The head of security was so compassionate to our situation and offered us to keep our room for extra time, if needed or “whatever we needed.” We graciously declined the offer and stated we were going to leave and follow her to the local hospital, assuming that we would be out of the hospital within a few hours (based on the medical situation at hand).
After arriving at the hospital, it was determined that our mom was suffering from a secondary issue that caused her to unexpectedly get admitted for further treatment. My sister and I left the hospital near the end of visiting hours, worried, tired, and unsure of what was going to happen to our mom.
I called Foxwoods resorts customer service/reservations line and explained our situation. I told them she was taken by ambulance from our hotel room, that we had traveled from New Hampshire, and about her unexpected hospital admission. I mentioned that the head of security had offered us extra time for the room and asked if there was any way we could receive a complementary room for the night, since we would be returning to the local hospital in the morning. The assistant who I spoke with asked me to hold while she spoke to her manager. When she returned to the phone, she told me, “I looked at your account and it looks like you just opened your players card yesterday…you do not have enough play history for us to comp you a room and my manager said there’s nothing they can do.” I was surprised by this response, as I was not just looking for a free handout, but a compassionate attempt to help us out, especially after the offer from security. I asked the representative to check my sister’s account because she had a card longer than I have. I was told, “unfortunately, she does not have enough play time for a comp’d room” and quoted me over $200 for a room. I again explained that the security staff had made an offer earlier and she told me, “go look at local hotels, they are cheaper.”
There are three hotels at this resort, it was not a prime night (Thursday), and I had been told by several poker players how “gracious” Foxwoods is with room comps. I was thoroughly disappointed that accommodations could not be made for us because we essentially “hadn’t spent enough money there.”
Its so sad that greed played such a factor into this, that the almighty dollar was more important than helping those facing a difficult situation, or any care was given to us. We would have spent money during our comp’d stay, at MINIMUM for food.
I will probably never return to Foxwoods for another stay or gambling for that matter. Its so disheartening that no real attempts were made to accommodate us and our challenging situation and we were treated so horribly by resort staff. I hope nobody ever faces a...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite go-to Casino but this has since changed...I'd honestly rather go elsewhere where I feel aknowledged as a person & a player. The machines have become increasingly tightened & players comps nearly inexistant. Currently I hold a gold card and at the beggining of this month, I was offered 5 comped rooms. Well, I booked one room two Sundays ago, stayed that night and hit a small couple thousand dollar jackpot. Was excited about this rare win and went online the next day only to see that the remaining 4 comped rooms were no longer available (even months later in advance were also not available) I found this to be strange when usually rooms are available to book much longer in advance. So I called thinking that it was an error and was transfered twice, hung up on etc but eventually spoke to a host Barbara only to be told that "comped rooms are first come/first serve" & that I need to be using my players card more often. This was discouraging to say the least...So wait, even though I forgot to use my players card- the casino could still see in their system that I took a cash advance (players card presented) and awhile after hit a jackpot: thus showing that I was playing for hours upon hours the night of my stay. I tried another approach upon coming back a few days later and went to speak to a host in person. Was giving the same useless jargon from the phone representative and basically told that it's the computer system and that there was nothing that they could...that to me is nonsense. I know for a fact that casinos often cater to different players based on many things, they simply did not want to help in my opinion. There seemed to be a language barrier with the asian hosts but I know that they speak English quite well and so I felt as this was done purposefully as well. Perhaps there should be an American host on hand to alleviate any confusion between players & the casino. I must say that the young Asian woman and older Asian man that were acting as hosts were very rude and unhelpful with finding any kind of middle ground or resolution; about a half hour or so was wasted in talking to them. What first seemed to be a computer error is likely just greed...I find it fishy how "comped rooms are no longer available" yet many of my friends still have the options to book thier comped rooms- how is that possible? Why bother playing with a players card if I cannot even reap my hard earned rewards?? I hope that someone from Foxwoods can clear this up and make it right. Be careful when receiving drinks here also, on St Patrick's Day what I was told was a Shamrock Shake was nothing more than a booze bomb which impacted my play negatively when I had ZERO intent to drink; this all has left me with a bad taste in my mouth..no pun intended. I spend a lot of money here, have recommended this casino to many, have put up multiple positive reviews out there etc. It would be nice to get some kick backs (my banked rewards) without the fuss; make it...
