The good: -The selection is good. Rare / higher end stuff. Singles (depending on) can be the right price. It offers convenience of having product avail.
The bad: -prices. Period. I get it’s Foxwoods, I get businesses need to keep the lights on. But I also know the prices these stores get product at. I know the margins. I know both sides as I’ve been in the industry. I know that many LCS shops always had Pokemon for MSRP and only changed until the shoe idiots and Jake Paul only for money types infested the hobby. Create fake scarcity, drive prices up. And you wonder how someone gets 10 ETBs? Botting. And they’re all scalping. Don’t buy from them.
I know the numbers, rent etc well enough to know that card shops don’t need to sell Pokemon for straight scalper prices above the already fake TCGplayer prices for sealed. Yes I said fake - use pricecharting to compare and eBay last sold. Better yet simply refer to MSRP price. I’ve had no issue getting prismatic , 151, JT for MSRP / no more than $70 for a pris bundle. JT bundles are $31 bucks in CT lol. Single packs are never more than $5/6. A regular set going for the $59/60 is just straight scalping for a booster bundle. If the Journey together is more than $32 for a bundle / 55/60 for a ETB, the writing is on the wall and you can take business elsewhere if you are a collector. It’s never a topic about “can you afford it” - it’s about just because you can doesn’t mean you should. However, if convenient + needing pokemon for above scalping private party prices is needed and Johnny needs the pack - go for it. Just know that you can get that product for cheaper if you do some extra legwork, research and ask about local retail drops. Hell, go on eBay. Prices may be higher but they aren’t anywhere close to what this store and the other store sells product at. I would not, but if one is desperate enough to- then...
Read moreHave bought from this store before .. today 8/10/2025 ... person behind counter with beard ignored me while a group of 3 people were trying to SELL the store cards. NOT ONCE DID THIS GUY SAY HI OR I'LL BE RIGHT WITH YOU... I WAS STANDING BY THE HOBBY BOX CASES FOR 15 MINUTES ... TOTAL BS.. I've spent thousands of dollars in this store ... not today ... MAYBE HAVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON WORKING IN THE STORE...I sat outside for an additional 10 minutes with my wife and the beard guy was still going into his phone in negotiation with his boss to buy this customers cards he had .. in that time period cause these 3 customers 1 female and 2 males totally took up the check out section while another I'd say about 15 people walked in, had cards in their hands they wanted to buy ... but couldn't get service. So they put them back... so 25 minutes have gone by now... and I was going to go back into the store to buy the one Topps Black Chrome box they had and 2 Score football boxes... but those same 3 people were there and maybe another 15 people walked in and out of the store .. possible $$$$$ in lost sales... I know my non sale was at least 950ish... but you know what... nobody will get back to...
Read moreFirst the store is very nice, with a huge vault, awesome, super valuable cards. But if you are a collector like me and these cards are out of your league. The store is a waste of time. They had only three boxes that you could look thru priced from $1 to $20. Heres the problem they priced the cards months ago and do not update their prices, so a card that was once worth $20 and is now worth $3, they are still charging you $20! Which is why when you buy these kinds of cards from any other store there is always haggling, which actually adds to the enjoyment. Not Card Vault their policy is to not budge on the price for any card not in the glass case. So when a kid, who can’t afford the high priced cards and isn’t up on the latest prices, goes in this store he/she completely gets taken advantage of. Which would have happened to my kids if I...
