I had the pleasure of receiving exceptional assistance from Kim Hansen during my recent visit to Cabela's, and I simply couldn't be more grateful for his expertise and kindness.

As a novice angler, stepping into the vast world of fishing can feel overwhelming, but Kim's guidance transformed my experience entirely. His depth of knowledge on various fishing techniques, lures, and hooks was truly impressive. What struck me most was his genuine enthusiasm for sharing his expertise, patiently walking me through the intricacies of catching different types of fish.

Kim's personal touch made all the difference. Not only did he offer invaluable advice, but he also shared captivating stories and showed me pictures of his own fishing adventures, making the entire experience not just informative, but also deeply enjoyable.

Thanks to Kim's guidance, I was able to put his advice into action and experienced the joy of reeling in a magnificent 25" rainbow trout, a feat I never imagined achieving on my own as a new angler. Catching that fish, along with several others throughout the day, was an incredible confidence booster, and I owe it all to Kim's expertise and encouragement.

This is the place to find all you could need for trout fishing. There are so many options in Roostertail, mepps, blue fox, and panther martin. They have an average variety of acme kastmasters, and Jake's spoons. The reel section for spinning and casting is pretty good, but they are currently out of many of their Shimano reels. The rod section is vast, but limited and so I recommend just getting an ugly stik GX2 in your desired action. They're more affordable, competitively durable, and look nice with most reels as well. To find the fishing section simply go through the aquarium entrance, which has less variety of fish than it used to, but is still cool nonetheless, and on the other side, is the fishing section. They have a good variety of plastic worms and Ned worms, but their topwater is pretty bad. Not many googan baits. And so is their tube jig section. Pretty sad. I only saw the Rattlin' Ned, so not a good spot for googan equipment. They have a few whopper ploppers, Abrogast jitterbugs, spooks, and frogs, but was lacking in walking frogs and poppers. They have a great rapala section and their line section is also good. Again the rods are limited, especially larger game rods for large carp, and large Catfish. The best reels are sold out at the moment and they hope to get more in a couple of weeks. sorry if this wasn't as hunting oriented or provided too much help there. I was just there for fishing gear. Oh yeah, their terminal tackle ware is alright as well including floats, and tackle boxes. They have an amazing fly fishing section with equipment for tying too. As a Mom I go here for the free or cheap kids entertainment. It is always amazing to see the big tanks of fish and see the different varieties of fish. I have only seen them do the tank feed once but it was super cool to see the big fish chase after the smaller live fish that were used as food. Seeing up close how they feed was very educational and fascinating. My kids love the target shooting that has actions/sounds if you hit the target. Having food to order in the store is a good idea as well cuz you can spend hours in the store just looking around. I love the roasted nuts and getting a free sample of 1 of the 40 flavescente of fudge is a yummy treat for me. During a previous visit I received great advice/ assistance and service when I was considering using a fly for the first time instead of a sunk line with bait. I usually buy mostly food items but I loved seeing a few t-shirts priced under $10! I love the one I got- it has great length! And since my hat was looking a little trashed I was happy to find those for $7.99 as well! My kids were happy too that I finally bought them each a popping gun since they were playing so actively with them in the store. I went away happy. It's always special to...
