The Declaration of Independence is one of the most important documents in the history of the United States. It was an official act taken by all 13 American colonies in declaring independence from British rule.
People in the colonies were unhappy that they did not have a say in their government and still had to pay taxes. The Stamp Act of 1765 collected taxes on paper goods like legal documents, newspapers, and playing cards. In one act of protest, men dumped the cargo of a ship full of British tea into Boston Harbor in 1773; this is now called the Boston Tea Party. In 1775, the colonists went to war with Great Britain.
The war between the colonies and Great Britain was called the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783). A group of men came together in the summer of 1776 to find ways to become independent from Great Britain. The committee included John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert R. Livingston, and Roger Sherman.
Writing the Declaration of Independence The Declaration of Independence was originally written by Thomas Jefferson. Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Jefferson then worked together to make changes to the document. The final draft of the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, but the actual signing of the final document was on August 2, 1776.
Writing and signing the Declaration of Independence took courage, but it was an important step in the founding of our Government. A famous phrase from the Declaration is âWe hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.â

   Read moreIt has been a long time since I've bought sunglasses. I never would have imagined sunglasses to be the same as a car payment! That is the loss of the 5th star for me. I just can't justify the expense.
Although, I would like to point out that Adam was a fantastic salesperson and an exelent person to work with. The ammount of time and the attention to detail and expertise on the product was phenominal! I wish equipment reps knew as much about front end loaders or chainsaws as Adam knows about sunglasses.
Even sharing information about protection plans and interchangeable bits and peices, I really wish I could justify spending the $252 for the BiSphere prizmP or what ever they were. On one hand I am super happy Adam was not more pushy, he just had the perfect ammount of salemanship. But when the glasses are the same or more than a duty belt or plate carrier... even the story of the EOD guy saying the glasses saved his eyes. How do you put a price on your eyes??
Maybe I'll get the department director to come down and create an account or at lease a PO under uniform allowance or safety equipment. I'm not sure but if my director was to get Adam I'm sure something good would happen. 5stars for Adam, 4stars for the store because I am cheap...
   Read moreIf I could give -5 stars I would. Came to store wanting to purchase rx glasses and was told they were too busy because of Black Friday sales. I was befuddled to say the least. If I happened to have other merchandise and spent whatever time I needed to decide on ANYTHING ELSE in the store, thatâs ok. Just not rx reading glasses. To roughly quote the store manager âwe are too busy to do thatâ. I had followed earlier instructions from their staff to find my reading rx, bring it in to the store and they would help me order custom frames. To hear that they were too busy to help me is terrible customer service. If you canât provide that service on a busy day, donât offer it. Ever. There will always be busy times. Why they are happy to sell anything else and spend any time necessary to sell anything else and not rx lenses caused a lost customer forever. Go elsewhere...
