Appalled at the customer service my family and I received tonight while in Macy’s. Manager, Megan, was beyond rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I had taken a blazer off of a manikin as it was the last one available, in her defense. After doing so Megan came up to us very unhappy and explained how we are not to take items off of manikins as they can fall and the items on them are defective, which I understand. I have been in many other stores where the employees are MORE than happy to make a sale and get the item off of the manikin themselves. We then asked Megan if she could help us locate the top of the manikin and she took us to the area it should have been located and found a different shirt and seemed argumentative that it was the one when indeed it was not. She stated we could purchase it online and order it as the one on the manikin would be defective due to a pin. We stated that would be fine although the one on the manikin was the shirt we wanted in the correct size. We went to meet her at the register and then I asked if we could try on the shirt that was on the manikin just to make sure that was the right size before ordering. Once we got the outfit, we asked her where a few other dresses were to which she responded the second floor. We were far from finished shopping and had over 400 dollars of merchandise already we planned on buying when she ran up behind us as we were went about still shopping and said “I am going to be a little knit picky, can you try those on over in this dressing room.” I have never dealt with anything like this, but I’m pretty sure that is discrimination (as we were not dressed up.) that is all I can figure or that she put the outfits on the manikins herself and therefore did not want the look ruined. After this, we left the clothes we had planned on purchasing and wasted a good amount of our time finding. I have been a VERY loyal card member of Macy’s for years. I love Macy’s and this particular store but I must say Megan has left a very sour taste and definitely lost a large sale and potentially future sales from me as well as my family. I pray that no one else experiences such service and that something is done to prevent this from happening again. No one should be made to...
Read moreMacys cosmetics discriminates, I am a man with tattoos, and I fully believe this is why the discrimination happened. I went into Macy's at 9:30pm to look at skin care products, I was helped and the girl helping me began trying out several different products on me, there were hardly any customers in the store so I wasn't embarrassed to try out these products, being male, because mostly women go to the cosmetics counter. Only 2 customers to be exact came in while i was being helped. I was about to buy this acne product, she was actually about to ring me up, everything was fine the girl had put a face mask on a little bit of my face when she says she has to excuse herself for a minute, I thought nothing of it, when she comes back what she said totally blew me away, she said she was really sorry but the cosmetics manager said I had to leave! She said she wasn't given a clear reason why, and that this was not how she felt personally it was what the cosmetics manager asked her to do. So I had to leave with part of a face mask on my face and walk through the whole mall embarrassed! I was truly so upset because I had basically just been kicked out of Macy's for no good reason! It was 10:15 I arrived at 9:30 I wasn't there longer than 45mins and there were only 2 customers that came in while I was getting help and they were immediately helped! I will NEVER EVER go back there again. I believe it had to be because of the way I look since there was no other reason at all I was polite and quiet, didn't get upset when the girl helping me had to serve other customers, I was going to buy the product! I have never been treated this way in any other store, Macys is the only one, they...
Read moreMacy's really needs to check their phone system out. For well over a year, even up through today, every single time I try to call Macy's and I push the proper prompt for the department I need, it's dead silence.
No phone rings, no one answers the phone, I've even tried the offices and no one answers. Dead silence.
Please Macy's please, have your phone system checked out. You're losing business from several of us, 2 friends fed up with their phone system as is my neighbor. I just head on in and go to Dillard's instead. At least I have the answers I need and it's not wasted time.
Dillard's answer all calls and in every Dept!
Plus, Macy's won't recycle the plastic in each day....bags from returns to how products come in. I have a hard time supporting a business that truly doesn't care about people. I work hard to recycle all my plastic, to care for others, environment and wildlife, and we teach our children, yet Macy's only interested in the dollar and sales, forget the people and environment as long as Corporate gets their pay checks and bonuses. So, I shop elsewhere, mostly now smaller business that care. If you want to make a return to Macy's, ( or any store in Mall) you can always take your plastic bags back home with you and recycle at your local grocery, instead of contributing to plastic, that kills wildlife. I wouldn't want my dog or cat suffocating, why any other animal?
Everyone thinks one plastic bag won't matter, but they not have seen the billions of bags pulled out of the ocean and and landfills. People can be ignorant,...
