Maxima Book Center — Local services in Lexington

I stopped at this lovely bookstore the other day when walking through downtown Lexington. I admit I was hesitant to go inside because I often find that storefronts on Mass. Ave tend to be overpriced; this was not the case with Maxima Book Center at all. They had a wide variety of books, as well as many unique gifts, bookmarks, and stationary items, all at reasonable prices! The person at the front was helpful and attentive without being overbearing, which allowed my boyfriend and I to browse at our own pace without feeling rushed. I was in town with some friends over the holiday weekend and stumbled across this bookstore while strolling through the town. We were welcomed by Candace and was helped by her multiple times during our shopping experience. I like to collect children's books during my travels and specifically books from the town/state I am in and she went out of her way to help me find the paperback version. She even, so kindly, showed us the nearest restroom. It was my first time in this city and if the locals are anything like Candace then everyone must be so kind and welcoming. I love this little store! They have titles I haven't seen in larger chains, and offer a wide range of books. From thrillers to nature guides, as well as a well-stocked children's book section and lots of fiction for adults, I highly recommend coming here.
