It's one thing to make assumptions, but to attest to the underlying problem of being socially profiled is another. This is what i went through on the day that Martin Luther King Jr. declared for all to be treated fairly and righteously. An employee in the self checkout not only checked my items once but multiple times and even dumped all my bagged items on the register just to confirm i was indeed not stealing. I was embarrassed and treated like a second-class citizen when i pointed out that I was treated unfairly and discriminated against. As i was leaving, the employee told me to never come back to her store again. Stop & Shop is that how you talk to your customers? My hard earned money accused, violated, and discriminated aganist, but yet im told not to come back to the establishment that accused me of theft? I come to this store all the time. My children are witnessing this as well. What does that look like to them? As well as being ridiculed by another patron in the establishment and being called a thug? Despite her telling me to never come, i already am fixated on never returning and taking my business elsewhere. Should the media be...
Read moreThis is a really great supermarket. They have all of your daily necessities readily stocked. They have some of the freshest shrimp at the deli, always a good source of lean protein. They offer fresh meat, healthy milk and dairy products, as well as crisp apples and juicy blackberries by the pound in the produce section.
In Christmas time, they have really great eggnog, as well.
They also serve the local community of Lexington by having a diaper donation for mothers who can't afford to buy diapers for their kids. Look for the green donation box at checkout, if you feel like helping out local families in need. Or, if you want to donate food, they also have a donation box from Lexington Food Pantry, which can always use goods such as rice, canned veggies, tuna and peanut butter. the store manager is a good man who cares a lot for his staff and for his customers. It's funny, we both have the same first name, so people calling for him always makes my head turn in reflex! Haha! I hope this helps you to find what you need. Trust me, you want it, Stopn'shop has got it! Thanks for being awesome for so many...
Read moreThis Stop and Shop is fine. Just like most of the others. I appreciate that the specialty diet (gluten free, for example) has its own special place at the front of the store. The Scan and Go kiosk on the far end of the store wasn't working (the screen was frozen and you couldn't get a scanner). Also, I appreciate that they offer a designated parking spot for 'Customers with Infants' (which I am) but for the life of me I cannot understand why they put it so far from a cart corral - it makes absolutely zero sense - moms want a spot near the carts more than they want a spot close to the door. The way this store has it we have to choose 1) put the baby in the car and walk the cart back to the corral, leaving the baby alone, 2) take the baby with the cart to put it away, then have to carry the car seat back (which is fine, but I think most moms try to avoid carrying that heavy thing as much as possible), or 3) leaving the cart near the vehicle and not returning it...
