Olson's Ace Hardware — Local services in Leyden Township

UPDATE Since writing this review, I was left a message from management to please contact them via email address provided by them. I emailed immediately on July 1st to discuss, it's now July 18th, with no response back from the email they requested. On Google review they made it seem as though they were truly interested in me contacting them to discuss the issue. However I believe that was a customer service tactic, to make it seem as though they were going to try and rectify the issue, I believe they put that comment so the people who look up google reviews, think that (they) actually care.

So extremely disappointed and frustrated! I went to this Ace on sunday wanting to make a duplicate key to my car, I was told the key was $100 plus $45 to program. I told the gentleman behind the counter that it was a basic key I didn't need programing and he insisted that all cars made after 2005 have a chip in the plastic black casing of the key and said it wouldn't work without being programed. I said ok and decided to see if i could find something more affordable. I went to a car key place to see if I could get a better price, Not only did i get a much better price i also got a whole lot of info, About my key the guy put it in a machine and showed me that it DOES NOT have a chip and absolutely doesn't need to be programed, and my key cost $30.00 for my copy. Olsen's Ace Hardware is one of the best places to go for hard to find items and is one of the very few places I'm aware of where there's always someone available to help you get answers to questions on how to or if you require help finding items to purchase. Even if they don't have it in stock, they'll see if it's available to order to begin with. Additionally, they're very pleasant and informative, which is a refreshing contrast to the big box stores when trying to find someone who works there to help you is exasperating and time consuming, neither of which helps when you're pressed for time! I was recently shopping for an Ego Lawn Mower among other Ego products. I've never shopped at Ace but found they were where these were sold. My experience couldn't have been better! Glen was so gracious with assisting my every need amidst a plethora of questions. Josh, the manager, also was involved and was very knowledgable and helpful as well. I left a very satisfied customer and an Ace Rewards Member with my car loaded full of new purchases. My experience has been shared with friends and family.
