SHADY & UNETHICAL! BAIT & SWITCH! We, too, worked with Angela but had the total opposite experience! We ordered "In-Stock" vinyl flooring which ended up NOT being "In Stock"! Angela assured us that it could be special ordered & delivered in time for our deadline a week and a half later. When asked, Angela had no idea whether the flooring would be delivered to the Overland Park or Liberty location. How can that be that a company does not have control over where to deliver their orders? If shipped to Liberty, we could pick it up on Monday, 9/9. If shipped to OP, we could pick it up on Thursday, 9/12. I asked her to call me either way on 9/9 so I could get a status. 9/9 came & by 4:50 PM I called her. She had gone home early without calling me, as promised! The rep I spoke with looked up our order & told me it was delivered to the OP location that day. Although aggravated that Angela broke her promise to call me, I hung up feeling much better knowing that the flooring was in OP! WRONG!! I get a voicemail from Angela late the next day, 9/10. She stated that the flooring would not be available for pickup until the following Monday, 9/16, which was days after our deadline! We were assured at the time of purchase that we would have it most definitely by Thursday, 9/12. Our very latest deadline was Saturday, 9/14, because our son-in-law was coming from out of town to install it at no charge! Now, it would not be at the Liberty location until the week AFTER our deadline! Because of their many broken promises and assurances, it was too late to order from another company and get it by the coming weekend! Angela told me she could not help me with installation charges which would have been $300 or more! We could make another selection from their "In-Stock" vinyl. Really? In stock, you say? We could find nothing we liked from their "In-Stock" vinyl. Angela was pompous and rude and at one point told me, "I am the manager!". After getting nowhere with her, I asked to speak to the owner. Paul, the owner, called and left a voicemail the next morning, although I told Angela afternoon. I called him back and the conversation went just as bad, or worse! Paul gave me the excuse for the employee who told me wrongly that the flooring was delivered to OP on Monday. He looked in the system and saw it was "SCHEDULED" for delivery there on Monday so just assumed it had been delivered. I told him that it shouldn't be assumed just because it was scheduled. He said with arrogance and I quote, "Oh yes, we do assume... sure we do and I'll tell you why....." We went round and around about that for several minutes before he wanted to agree to disagree! Do you believe that an owner of a business would stand behind, argue to the death and base his business on assumptions!?!? HEY, owner PAUL, how is it that an "In-Stock" item wasn't in stock at all and you didn't even have enough "In Stock" to cover a very small order for a very small bathroom? How is it that there was NO running order for this "IN-STOCK" flooring when you had ZERO "IN STOCK"? I guess another example of running your business based on ASSUMPTIONS, eh, Paul? Bottom line, we were offered ZERO compensation & ZERO apologies for the rude way I was treated and for their many blunders and broken promises! I was treated with impudence by Angela and lied to yet again after finding out the new promised delivery date of Monday, 9/16, didn't happen! 3 days later on Thursday, 9/19, the flooring was supposed to be available which was a week and a half after the original promised delivery date! Who knows if it ever was delivered because we cancelled our order! What a comedy of horrors this business is! Run by a manager & an owner who make promises based predominately on assumptions! RUN, RUN, RUN from this company!! WE would never, EVER do business with Big Bob's Flooring Outlet again even if they gave us flooring for free! I record ALL of my conversations so I have 100% proof of everything...

Edited 6 months ago Shopped at Big Bob’s Flooring for tile for the master bedroom bathroom I was remodeling. After selecting some tile I was interested in, set up an appointment for a measurement and estimate for installation. The estimate I was given exceeded the actual square foot of my bathroom by 25 square feet. When I returned the tile samples I had taken I spoke to a salesperson about the estimate. I pointed out the discrepancy in square footage and was told the original bid had been formulated wrong and they corrected it. I accepted the corrected bid. Installer showed by promptly on the day of the install. Seemed polite and professional. Another worker showed up for a while to assist. Again, polite and professional. Day one install went well from what I could see, tile was all laid. Day two, only required one installer. Grout was installed. Upon completion he collected his tools and then asked that I look at the floor. With newly installed grout, he asked that no one walk on it for “three hours or so”. I agreed and thanked him for his work. The next day when I went into the bathroom, I was shocked by what I saw. He used my newly installed - never used - shower stall to rinse his sponge or dump his bucket in, leaving grout all over the shower pan. I found grout and sponge swipes with remnants of grout four feet up my newly painted walls. I had greasy handprints on my newly painted doors and doorframes. I spent the good part of an afternoon cleaning up all that and grout and mortar that didn’t get properly cleaned off the floor. Though I might buy tile from them again, I would ABSOLUTELY NOT have them install it.
4 stars for the tile 2 stars for the tile installation 0 stars for the grout installation 0...
Read moreMy husband and I bought tile from Big Bob's in Liberty to be used for the flooring in our bathroom remodels. We worked with Cleo, and he ordered multiple boxes of the tile we selected. However, when our contractor opened one of the boxes, over half of the tiles were broken, some just corners, but others completely in half. We understand that tile is a very delicate product and can easily break if not handled with appropriate care, but we did not anticipate the rudeness and lack of customer service when we inquired what could be done about it.
When picking up an extra box that had been ordered at a later date, we inquired what is normally done when boxes come with significant breakage. The woman at the store basically told us it was our problem because we should have inspected the tile when it was picked up. Without completely opening each box, it would have been impossible to determine if more than just a piece or two were damaged. We were also never instructed by their staff to inspect the tiles for damage before leaving, which is what this woman said should have happened. I would expect their experienced staff to be able to identify boxes of tile that may have been damaged in shipment and assist their customers with this inspection.
I also want to mention that this same woman told my husband very matter of fact when he walked in a few minutes before 7pm to only pick up the tile, not to shop, that "lights are out, we're closed." If your hours are posted to be open until 7pm, I would expect to be able to come in even just a minute before 7pm and be treated with kindness and respect.
Cleo was great to work with; however, the rudeness and lack of customer care displayed by the woman who we encountered when picking up the last box will be sure to be shared with anyone who tells us they are planning to shop at Big...
